Good Morning Fr. Dennis & Veronica,
I hope you have been doing well since you last spoke with Mary.
My name is Cody Armock and my role here in Diocesan's web department is as a content specialist. This means, that in addition to going over what areas of your current website are staying or going, I also help you find the most effective way to layout your website. I will be helping you in this process from now until the training before the launch of the site.
This not only helps us build you a website that is easier to edit and manage but also allows anyone visiting your website to accurately and consistently find the information for which they are looking.
Below is a link to a live Google document of your current sitemap that you are able to edit directly. Please go through this sitemap and make the appropriate edits to display what pages you'd like Diocesan to migrate, as well as removing the items that you do NOT want Diocesan to move.
Once you have completed editing the pages you'd like Diocesan to migrate, please let me know and we will begin making a suggested sitemap for the new site based on your current sitemap. The suggested sitemap is created to optimize the flow and look of your site. We will then send you the suggested sitemap to edit and change as needed and when finished, approve it.

Thanks again for all you do. We are also very excited about our new website. I met with Gloria, our office manager, so that we can both look into condensing the tabs and content. A lot as you have noticed is very repetitive and not very user friendly when it comes to finding information effectively, so this is great! I have removed and merged some, and suggested adding a few tabs that we would like to see for example the “Memorial Wall” under “Our Parish”.
If I understand you correctly at this point it’s just the titles and tabs you wanted me to look at not “specific content” right?

You can make comments about the specific content that you want to be changed and I will carry those comments over to the specific sitemap, but you will also have access to the site later on in the process and be able to change the content then, so it is up to you whether you want us to migrate over all the content or if you want it to be tweaked on our way through it.

Hi Cody,
I noticed a few things were still out of sequence, or not reflecting the initial changes. I went ahead and re-edited based on the changes we would like to see, this time however I wasn’t able to offer comments.
Also- in light of the COVID- 19 out break, as you may have noticed, we have added a tab to our menu that now says “Sunday Mass”. We have begun live streaming our weekend masses, and I am unsure if this is what we will continue doing even after the Virus has cleared. However, for now we want this to transfer over to new site. Currently we have it on the main menu and we are open to suggestions on the best way this can be incorporated to our new website, you are the experts we are just trying to figure out how to make information available to our parishioners, but we definitely need there to be a clear access that is user friendly. As well as a button, or tab that links to our FACEBOOK on the Home page.

I am currently trying to add a "Child" page to our website for the Sunday masses.
On wordpress, I went to "Add New Page" created the new page, and assigned the "Parent Page" as Sunday Mass, then published.
This shows up on our list of pages as active. (but again I have never been trained on Wordpress and have no idea if this was the correct process or if I am missing a step) Can you help?

Hello Veronica,
That is how you would add a child page to the site by editing the parent page attribute. So you did it correctly. In the list of all pages, if it is anything like our Wordpress sites, it will display the Child page as "—Child" under the "Sunday Mass" page.

Yes, it does on the backend. However when I visit the site, it doesn’t appear. There is no way for someone to get to the page unless they add the /Sunday-mass/English directly to the url. ??

Hello Veronica,
You would have to add a link to the Sunday Mass page with the URL for the Child page for it to link there or you would need to add that page to the menu. Child pages are more for organizing pages usually unless the parent page is setup, in the code, to pull in the child pages on the parent. I would assume that the link is the only way to go right now.

Good morning Veronica,
It's me, the other Veronica! I wanted to give you a quick rundown of where the project stands and what your next step is.
I sent an email mid-March asking for a confirmation on what we will be basing your new logo off of and haven't received a message back. I had planned on following up on this upcoming Monday, but since I've got you now, your next step will be to respond to that email (I will resend shortly).
Once we have confirmation that this is what we are basing the logo design around, we can move forward.
The final look of your website is dependant on the logo colors being determined first before we can build your website. Then, once colors are determined, we can build the site and get that moving while our designer completes the logo work with you. This way, by the time you are trained, we will have the website done and your logo ready for use.
I'll resend the email now so we can get moving along sooner rather than later. Just let me know if you have any additional questions.

Good morning Veronica,
Unfortunately, while Diocesan has possession of your domain, we do not have any control over your hosting, which seems to be the issue.
I probed a little deeper and see that your current hosting is either with GoDaddy or a subsidiary of GoDaddy. My suggestion is to get in contact with your hosting company and see if the issue can be resolved through them.

If you are still unable to get the website up and running, let me know. Tomorrow our developers will be available and can set up a temporary website for a one-time cost of $200 to cover creating the site, adding in your primary content, and 2 hours of training, in addition to support.

It seems that since your site has come back up with a new IP address, you may also have new nameservers and this is why we are not seeing a change yet.
Please have your domain owner follow the instructions below and let us know what to update the new nameservers to:

Once we have updated these we should see the website come back up.

Hello Father Nestor,
I wanted to give you a status update on website. It seems that the website content never fully came back up. Most of the pages (including homepage) have error message reading "There has been a critical error on your website".
I believe the error was when we signed contract including maintenance and hosting fee, we were under impression that Diocesan would now host our site. The domain was transferred over, and EPP code sent to Diocesan so that they would have possession of our domain. So we (St. Ann Church) believed that meant as soon as transfer was complete they would also be hosting. This was never clarified or explained to us, nor did I think to ask. Based on this St. Ann Church was removed from our current Host.
I have been in constant communication with Diocesan, since January with several different people and they have been more than helpful! Recently, Veronica Alvarado in the web department was helping figure all of this out for us, she discovered and informed that although it is true Diocesan has possession of the domain, they are not the Host, and will not be hosting until the new website is up. She explained the difference very well.
Unfortunately for us, this meant we had to discover who the previous host was, which John Pescosolido has been in contact with Godaddy (a company that builds websites which is where ours started from) to find out . After hours of being on hold, he was able to pay a renewal fee, and get the site back up with a new IP address and also new server names which were sent over to Diocesan so they could continue to build our new website.
Since Monday, John P.; Veronica and myself have been closely monitoring the website in hopes that all of our content had been restored. As of this morning, I haven't noticed any new advances infact I would say the opposite, the progress I noticed on Monday seems to have been reversed. Veronica at Diocesan suggested to hard reset our browsers and included instructions on how to do this but it seems that issue still lays with Godaddy.
I have reached out to John P. again, and he is calling Godaddy this morning to ask what is going on, as well to request our content files.
The following was a suggestion from Diocesan on Sunday, and I strongly feel with everything going on and our website is currently the main source of information for our Parishioners, especially now since we are in Holy Week is creating a temporary Landing Page (temporary website that will be eliminated once our new website is completed.)
Per Veronica at Diocesan : This temporary page would be at essentially no cost to us since we still have a credit. They would charge $200.00 that would be deducted from our credit. Parishioners would be able to access to the bulletins, online giving, and any news or update we would want to include. She confirmed if we agree to this option, they WILL be hosting as soon as it is up. Diocesan will also provide training for someone in office to be able to update and edit the temporary site.
Its important that we make a decision soon, so they can start creating the temporary page. If we give them the green light by noon today at latest they will start working on this immediately and potentially have the site up by tomorrow morning.

Can we set it up to where its similar to bulletin where the Main one is a video box and past ones are in links?

Dear Parishioners,
Happy Easter! There is still a reason to celebrate Easter despite the scare that affects all of us due to the Corona virus pandemic. Easter joy is not dependent on us and our situation. It is dependent on God.
What we believe on Easter is not only that God raised Jesus from the dead. God has plans to do the same for us—to raise us and lead us out of our sorrow, hopeless- ness, and misery.
How do we move towards the joy of Easter? Let us go back to the story that transpired on Easter morning.
A group of women that included Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James, and Salome went to the tomb of Jesus to pay their respects to Him. However, they discovered something upsetting and disturbing—the stone was rolled back from the grave, and the tomb was empty. The women could not find Jesus' body. They were distraught. They cried and did not know what to do.
Yes, the beginning of Easter was emptiness, sadness, and uncertainty. Easter joy was first felt in the empty tomb. Howev- er, sorrow was turned into joy when Jesus appeared to the women and told them that He has risen.
In general, Easter joy is connected to our sufferings, struggles, and emptiness. Easter joy is indeed a different kind of joy. Easter joy is not that kind of feeling when we celebrate special occasions with families and friends, or when we win a stiff competition, or when we secure our dream job.
There is no question that those kinds of joy are what we long for to happen in our lives. However, you and I know that challenges and hardships are inevitable parts of life. Not a single person is exempt from the sufferings of this world.
Amid our Church's most important liturgical season, we collectively suffer from the effects of the pandemic. We also feel the emptiness of not being able to celebrate Easter in our Churches the way we did in the past.
Embracing our crosses and claiming our emptiness allow us to open the door to Easter joy. God's consistent and uncondi- tional love and mercy to humanity are the basis of our hope and joy. This is indeed the greatest reason why we always celebrate Easter.
Let us continue to pray for God's care and protection upon us, confident in our joyful life in Christ now and forever.

Hello everyone,
First, I apologize for this change. Normally, any change in design or launching will be discussed with you.
In this case, the unprecedented occurred. The development site (still in progress) was accidentally uploaded to your live site rather than to a separate development site.
In order to resolve this, we will need to restore from Saturday's backup. I did notice that updates were made to the homepage and have copied the homepage text so that all text will be restored as it was when edited yesterday.
Again, I apologize and will notify you once the restoration is complete and the site has been returned to the temporary site.

The only thing we have left to do is to make sure the site is mobile responsive, but that shouldn't take too long, so when would you like to launch the new site? We like to do Launches between Monday - Thursday so that we have another day in the office if you have any questions. The earliest we could launch is August 17th, a week from Monday to get everything ready for launch (Mobile Responsiveness and Domain setup). So any Monday-Thursday after that we can do.

Do you have a desired launch date in mind for the site? I am not sure if it has been communicated yet or not, but the launch should be between Monday & Thursday to leave Friday to answer any questions that you may have. Let me know what date you are thinking.

We can do the launch on the 26th. On the 26th, we just ask that you do edit the dev site (https://stannwpb.diocesanweb.org/) as it can cause issues with the launch and your changes may not be saved. We will make sure that the dev site is current on Friday, with the Mass Videos, Bulletins, Forms, etc. to make sure that it is ready for Monday's Launch.

Ok, sounds good. So no editing ON THE 26th… but as of now we can continue to edit? So my other question was, what happened to the Memorials page? I am still showing it wasn’t added?

Correct, no editing on the 26th until you get an email from us saying that the site is launched!
As for the Memorials page, I have added the page to the Menu as a Main Menu Item, you can move it around in the Menus screen under the "Appearance" tab. You can also add to the memorials by using Memorials tab in the Menu (shown in the screenshot below).

It will take some time for the website to be launched and for everything to propagate, but as we launch your website this morning (9am - 2 pm), we ask that you please refrain from logging into the website and making any changes until you receive an email from us letting you know that your website is launched. This way, nothing will be overwritten or go unsaved as we change URLs and add SSL certificates.

You can delete the sample memorials if you want. You can trash them the same way that you do with posts and pages. The site is nearly fully launched and you should be receiving an email shortly after.

Also, wanted to let you know that as of Nov. 3, I will no longer at St. Ann's. Marjory Mallenbranche will be replacing me for website administrator. This will still be the contact email for her.
