Well, without this Date field, their News Posts won't be ordered correctly on either their Homepage or on the corresponding Archive.
I seem to recall telling them that these date fields are a pain and, consequently, are never maintained. Thus, I recommended not using them, but the customer is always right, and the developer who's dealt with this exact issue multiple times doesn't know what he's talking about.
Want me to fix this at this point, or should we wait until they've realized that there's a reason why I required the Date fields (over my own objection)?
