Website Update
Hello Travis and Mary,
I am not sure if I have had the chance to talk with you, but I am Veronica and I am the content specialist here in Diocesan's Web Department. I am contacting you because I have great news: Your website is now ready for viewing!
It has already been moved to your new domain and can be found at http://standreparish.org/. Feel free to click around and take notes of things you want to discuss further.
Remember, this is not your completed/launched site and changes may still be made. For example, right now the myParish App section of the homepage is from another parish. Once your app is active, we can add yours here.
Training
Now that the site is almost ready to launch, I would like to set up a training with the two of you. I am available Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. With this in mind, please pick two dates/times that you will be able to set aside 1-2 hours for a training.
Once trained, you may begin adding and updating content. For example, the "Religious Education" page under the "We Form" tab still needs content.
In your consultation, it was unclear if we would be moving your email to Gmail (Google Suite) or not. Please let me know so I can get started on this ASAP.
I look forward to hearing from you soon and thank you for choosing to work with Diocesan on your new website!

Hi Veronica,
Our apologies for the delay in our response. We've had a number of parish leaders pass away in the last month, and our priest has been out of the country since Christmas.
Nevertheless, we'd like to pick up where we left off. I have a number of changes that need to be made to the website, aside from content. I'm not sure if you'd like me to send those changes to you, or not. For example, the page headers are in purple, we'd like to change those to be in line with the color scheme of the website. We also need a Spanish version of our logo; remove the "A Community of..." overlaying the primary picture; the format seems to be super zoomed in on 100% zoom, so we would like to make it a bit smaller; adding a photo gallery; etc.
I have other changes, aside from content, but I can cover those with whomever can help us.
In your email, you also mentioned the google email features. I believe I told Kevin pretty early on that was something we wanted to proceed with.
Also, please remove Mary Moroz from the email communication on the website. Unfortunately, her twin sister passed away recently and she just doesn't have the time to commit to seeing this to fruition.
Again, my apologies for the delay, but we're excited to launch! -TG

Hi Veronica,
It's also worth noting that I expressed concern with Kevin regarding the google translated version of the website. The grammar doesn't match, etc. We have folks who could translate and edit the website, so maybe that's worth pursuing--please advise. -TG

Travis,
With everything that seems to be happening at your parish, I completely understand. As requested, I have removed Mary from the email.
Any changes can be sent to me. I will distribute them to whoever needs to work on it.
For the Spanish translation, I know that it will automatically translate the page according to Google Translate. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to change or edit their translations. The only real fix I can think of is if we have your people translate the site, and we creating a Spanish version of the website. To do this, we would have to almost re-create the website, which could drastically change the cost of the project. If this is something you are interested in, please let me know and I will get together with Kevin and the developer to find the best solution for you.
I know it was something you had discussed with Kevin, but wasn't sure if it was still a go. Sometimes parishes change their mind throughout the process of staff changes. Since you do want to proceed, please fill out the attached spreadsheet of all the users you would like to have a new Gmail.
To begin the email process, I need the following documents:
- 501(c)3 Group Exemption Letter with the listing of your parish (normally a photocopy of the Official Catholic Directory)
- Complete and return the attached spreadsheet with all accounts you would like to have new email accounts
- Let me know what you currently use for email
Thanks for getting back to me and I am ready for you to send the changes my way!

Travis,
I have gone ahead and begun making the changes that I have access to. The remainder of the changes you highlighted will be passed on to the developer on the project.
As for the Giving link, we can go ahead and remove Parish Giving, Kroger Rewards, Meijer Rewards and CSA. We often recommend Vanco Giving, but have also seen many parishes go with Our Sunday Visitor as well (osvonlinegiving.com).
If you end up going with another service, that works as well. For our end, we only need the url link to your giving page.

Thanks Veronica! I'll be sure to share with our office staff.
Hi Veronica,
1) Please the attached document for text we'd like added to various sections of the website.
2) I've also uploaded our handbook for Religious Education we'd like made accessible through the site.
3) I'm not sure how long it will take to get the online contribution stuff up and running. If that's the last thing holding us up, can we just create a page that says it's coming in March/April 2018?
4) Wanted to touch base with you regarding the other changes made in my initial request (logo, screen size, etc.) I have noticed quite a few changes and I'm excited they're coming along!
5) Regarding the Spanish Google Translate. We have serious concerns regarding the grammar. For example, words that are capitalized in English, when translated via Google, are not then capitalized in Spanish. (See "formamos" or "crecemos" for example)
6) Also, what do we need to do for MyParish App?

Good morning Travis,
My weekend went well with plenty of sunshine. I hope yours was splendid.
Sorry about not getting back to you regarding the email you sent. I wanted to talk to the developer, Ryan, about your specific requests before responding.
First off, I want to discuss the Spanish website, since this is a big issue. After speaking to Ryan, this is definitely something we can do. We will create the Spanish side and then let you and your volunteers put the translated content in.
For the Spanish Logo, do you want us to simply change "Catholic Church" to the Spanish, "Iglesia Católica"?
After looking at the mockup homepage design, I see that the zoomed look you mention is something that is in the original design. When building the site, we only have the mockup to go off of and design it as a replica.
Now that you are actually using the website, it may be different than what you expected. What about the size is it that you don't like?
- Is it the website header?
- Is the homepage image too tall? Is it the font sizes that make it look zoomed in?
- Is it the height and width of the "Parish News" area larger than you anticipated?
- Did you want all content areas to be squeezed in more (similar to diocesan.com)?
- Is it the header sizes that create sense of being zoomed in?
- Is it the padding (white space) between each content section?
These are some questions that we commonly ask customers when they say the site looks either too big or too small.
For the font consistency, could you give me specific examples? Throughout the site, we tried to stick to the two fonts used in your logo (one serif, one sans serif). Do you mean that the size/bold of the fonts?
If there are any places where the fonts are not what you had in mind, please specify where and to what font you would like it (serif or sans serif), so that we can change them right away. Specific examples are a lot easier than going through each and every element to double check fonts, haha.
As far as content, I actually want to go ahead and set up a training with you and whoever else will be editing the website. You've got a great list of content to add and I want to make sure you know how to edit it in the future.
The training typically take 1-2 hours. If you could please let me know two dates/times after this week that work best for you, we can schedule the training.
If you have any more questions, please let me know. Once we have specific examples, we can get started on making sure your new website meets all your expectations!

Hi Veronica!
Lots of ground to cover here...
1) Spanish version of Catholic Church, please!
2) A duplicate matching site would be amazing! This is such a relief! We have a team of 4 translators who have volunteered to maintain the Spanish side.
3) All content squeezed in, similar to your website, is exactly what we're looking for!
4) I'll see if I can find a few font examples and send them over.
5) Training will have to wait until next week at the earliest. Our pastor is out of town again, but we will need to identify who will have their hands on the site.
6) Thanks for the info on myParish App. -TG

Travis,
1-2) Ryan still has to do a little bit more research on the exact way we are going to go about the Spanish side, but I think it will definitely work for your parish!
3) I spoke to one of the designers and he said that we would squeeze the content in similar to 90% zoom on the page (if you use Google Chrome Browser, visit the site then hold "CTRL" and click the minus " - " key.
We don't want to pull the content in as tight as Diocesan, because then your site has yellow and blue sections that stretch the width of the screen. Pulling content in too much makes these sections look odd and distract from rather than highlight their content.
4) We are going to change the homepage sections to all be similar, so this may help what you are seeing.
5) Any time is good with me. You can choose a time from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm M-F. Of course, I am good with any day that everyone else is available.
Emails
As we discussed before, to get the emails started, I am going to need the spreadsheet of email users and your 501(c)3 Group Exemption form before getting started.
How exciting! We're getting closer and closer to a finalized website.

1-2) Okay!
3) This is weird... When I reduce the size in Google Chrome, it reduces the screen size of the content from Mass Times and below, but it doesn't move the main headers at all. I've attached two screenshots of what I like. The main page is at 67% and the Parish News page is 80%. On the main page, I'd like the size of 67% but the content moved in by like an inch or so. This make any sense? Sorry...
4) Cool
6) I've just emailed my team to see if I've missed anyone on the email list. Also working on the form.
7) I have a Parish Council meeting on March 1st, so if we could have this in solid shape before then, that would be amazing! -TG

Travis,
Oh thank goodness. I wasn't sure if March 1 for the Spanish side would have been entirely realistic, but who knows. Miracles happen, haha.
I do know what you mean! It took me a while, but I'm there with you now!
I will talk to the developer about the screen/font sizes.
Thanks for your patience with us, Travis.

I will need their personal emails as a place to send links to activate their Google emails.

Travis,
Wonderful that they use personal accounts. Since it can be very difficult to migrate email account content, this will make the step toward Google accounts a lot easier!
As for their activation emails, please do not say anything quite yet. The process to get the email accounts set up actually takes about a week due to domain verification and non-profit verification processes. That said, I will send you an email to let them know that activation emails will be sent out.
Also, you said "Below are the personal email addresses" but I did not receive any.

Good catch!
I changed it on my end.
I changed it on my end.
Travis,
I wanted to give you an update:
- Content Width
We updated the content to be a bit constrained. I think it looks a lot better and makes the website look smaller - Fonts
We matched all the font sizes (Mass Times, Bulletins, myParish App, etc) on the homepage so that should fix the issue there. There are now only 4 different kinds of font (section title, subtitles, content, and buttons) - Spanish
We are still trying to find the best way to do the Spanish site. I think for now, we should hold off on setting a date for the training until we get this settled. That way when I train you guys, I show you how to do the Spanish side as well. - Header/Navigation
We are still working on scaling down the header/navigation menu.

Hello Travis,
It's official! We have settled on a way to do the Spanish version of the website. If everyone is available, we could set up a training for next week (I am not available for a training this week). Additionally, if you would like to have volunteers begin typing up translations of the website's content, that would be extremely helpful to move the content process along. If they type it as a word document, you can easily just copy and paste it over to the website.
Also, I have started the email creation process, but am now waiting Non-Profit Organization approval to go through. This typically takes 3-7 business days.
I'm so glad you are beginning the path towards myParish App. It really is a great tool for parishes and especially for parishioners. In this age of technology, apps and notifications are the best way to remind them.
Let me know when everyone is available for the training and I will put it on my calendar!

Travis,
You can go ahead and send them to me, but keep a copy for your notes. As long as the changes are fairly simple, they should be easy to change.

Hi Veronica!
Hope you had a great weekend!
Okay, first thing. Being that we're essentially an all volunteer parish, we're struggling to find a time during the week the web team will be available during business hours to do the training. Any suggestions? Maybe its something I can do, then teach others as a group? Do you offer a Saturday morning training?
Below are the list of structural changes:
1) No header when you click on Daily Readings
2) We Gather: Add "Photo Gallery"
3) We Gather: Add Funerals (I can send content later)
4) We Gather: Remove "Contact" and "Staff" and "Liturgical Schedule" tabs
5) We Form: Rename "Adult Education" to "Adult Formation"
6) We Grow: Add "Parish Council" and "Finance Council" (Content Later)
7) We Gather: Add "Parish History" and "Patron Saint"
8) We Form: Add "Catechism"
9) We Form: About Us: Remove Catechism link
10) Contact: Too much white space - condense.
11) We Form: Adult Education Opportunities - How are these generated? Ministers Needed Article doesn't seem relevant. Is this just filler for now?
12) Contact: Header background is blue. Is it the only one in blue?
13: Main: Remove Mass Time Section under main picture. Just really out of place.
14) Main: Background image of "Weekly Email" "Daily Readings" and "Parish App" -- should the image be the stained glass or something of the sort? Also, should the yellow background be an orange tint to keep in line with the color scheme?
15) Any word on moving the main header in a bit to create a bit of white space on the outside?
16) Spanish Side Logo?
Hope these aren't too crazy! Thank you!

Hello Travis,
For the training, we normally do only offer M-F trainings, but I may be able to do a Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon training. I will take a look at my calendar and get back to you with a couple dates that I can do.
Changes
1) Daily Readings and posts are currently set not to have the banner at the top. I can see how this would be jarring, so we will make these changes.
2-8) These are items that have to do with the menus/adding pages, so I will walk you through these during the training.
9) Content that we will go over during training.
10) We will condense the white space on the Contact Pag
11) These are posts that your website editor will be able to put in. The posts on the Adult Education Opportunities pages is a category. Each post may be put in one or more categories. For the Ministers Needed, it is as simple as unchecking a box (as we will go over in the training).
12) We will make the Contact page the same color orange.
13) The issue with removing Mass Times from the homepage is that when visitors come to your website, the number one thing they will be looking for is Mass times. We want these times to be prominent and toward the top of the content, otherwise people are likely to give up on finding it and just searching the next church. Would you prefer we make the Mass Times smaller?
14) We can change the background to a stained glass image, if you prefer it. As far as the yellow background, we can change it, but these three colors are what we had in the design mockup that you had approved. Since this project was from a while back, I am not totally sure why the blue and yellow were chosen, but I assumed they were a part of your identity. I want to double check that the color yellow is out and no longer a part of design, correct?
15) We moved all the content in to have more space on the sides. Did you also want the header/menu to be moved in as well? If so, we run the risk of having the menu too close to your logo and looking slightly cramped up there. Let me know what you think.
16) I believe I had already asked you what you wanted us to change, but the message may have gotten lost in our conversation. When you first brought up a Spanish Logo, I had asked if you wanted us to simply change "Catholic Church" to the Spanish, "Iglesia Católica" or if you wanted the Saint to be changed to "San" or "Santo".
Also, in case you had looked at the homepage, the myParish App section is messed up because you have not posted any messages yet to the App. Once you add a message, this should fix itself.
Once we discuss 11-16, I will pass these changes along to the website developer.
Thanks so much for getting the list together Travis,

Okay! So much to cover here! Who knew this would take so much effort, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Training - Sounds good.
1-12) Cool!
13) What if we changed the top "Celebrating Liturgy" tab to "Mass Times"? Might this help? Maybe it is just the solid blue background with TNR font that's throwing me off.
14) Blue is our existing color scheme... haha. Yellow was something tossed out there in the beginning, but I think it was a place holder. Reactions to orange have been pretty good, so I would just make those couple changes on the main page and call it good.
15) Okay, if I hear two comments or more about this during training, I'll follow-up with you.
16) I thought I replied on the translation. "San Andre Bessette Iglesia Catolica" with all the appropriate accent marks.
Parish App: I kinda figured. :)

Before moving forward, I just wanted to say thank you for having patience with us. I know we have had a lot to talk about and a lot of things to change since the initial design. I am glad these things have not been too frustrating!
Okay so...
13) I have changed Celebrating Liturgy to Mass Times. I still think we should have the Mass Times on the homepage, but I will talk to our designer to see what he thinks.
14) Orange it is!
15) Okay. We will wait until after the training to make any changes.
16) I believe it would be "San André Bessette Iglesia Católica". Is there any way you can ask a volunteer to double check the spelling and word order before I ask the designer to change it?
Thanks so much for everything,

That's the correct grammar and order!
Travis,
I completely understand why he may be getting a bit impatient. It's like once we fix one thing, we notice something else, haha.
Setting up the training will move things along, as volunteers will be able to begin translating and filling out the content. The sooner this is done, the sooner
So I had to move some things around, but I am available this weekend (March 10/11), either Saturday morning (8-10 or 9-11 am) or Sunday afternoon (4-6 or 5-7 pm).
Unfortunately, I am not available next weekend (March 17/18).
I am, however, available after hours this week and next week, but please remember that a training will take ~2 hours. If you choose to do it on a weekday afternoon, 5-7 or 6-8 pm works for me.
Which one do you think will work best for you and the volunteers?
Also, remember that whoever cannot make it, can learn from someone that was there. If I am not mistaken, I believe I may be able to record the training. Please do not hold me to this, as I am not sure if it is possible for me to save and send the recording, or if I am the only one that will be able to review the recorded training.
Lastly, I "hacked" the web page and changed what it would look like with the orange. Let me know what you think before we make the permanent change.
Thank you and please let me know about the training as soon as you know,

One laptop on a projector will be the best. I will actually log into your computer through TeamViewer and while the one person does things, I will watch and, at times, take over to show/explain things. For this, you will need to be connected to the internet. As far as being on the phone, I can just be put on speakerphone.
I just tried it with my coworker, and we can most definitely record the video of the training. Audio will not be recorded, but this shouldn't be too important, as everything I am saying just goes along with what I am showing. For example, when I am making a post, the top of the page says "New Post", and the same with the menu changes, editing pages, creating new pages, etc.
Also, about how many people will I be training?

Hi Veronica,
This sounds like a plan! Sorry for the delay. I've been out of commission the last few days with a stomach bug, but I'm feeling better.
There will be 5 or 6 folks at the training. -TG

Regarding the orange, let's go for it!
Travis,
I am so glad that you are feeling better.
I have let the developer know that the orange is definitely a go and we will begin changes shortly. These changes will happen over the next week or so, but should not interfere with our training or your volunteers going in and making changes.
If you have any questions, please let me know. If not, then I will talk to you on Saturday!

Travis,
I am actually doing trainings for the remainder of the week, so my schedule is pretty packed.
However, I do have several resources that I found for you when I first discussed it:
Forwarding Emails
Since your emails are new, people may be sending emails to your Yahoo email, so forwarding your Yahoo to your Gmail will keep you from having to check for mail in two places.
- How to Forward Your Current Yahoo Email to Gmail
- Another Example of How to Forward Yahoo Mail to Gmail
Moving Emails and Contacts
If you have a lot of emails that you are going to need later, importing your old emails may be the way to go!
Also, you don't want to have to keep going back to Yahoo to remember emails, this will enable you to move all your old contacts once and be done.

These should be helpful and most of them include photo examples of the processes.

I will upload it and let you play with it to see if you would like to use it. We have the pro version that we install for most of our newer clients, as they find it easy to work and understand.
Essentially, you put your photos into galleries with this plugin, then use a shortcode to display the gallery.
You can also put multiple galleries into an album.
I will do that now.

Hi!
I feel like we are so close! We're officially launching the website Easter weekend. We're almost finished with the translations, so we're going to begin building the spanish side of the website on Sunday.
There are a couple of small issues outstanding:
1) The mass times font on the main page seems to be off... sorry--just something about it doesn't look right.
2) In the beginning, Kevin told us that you guys could do something where if folks visited sabecorse.net (http://sabecorse.net), they would be automatically directed to the new website. Is that something you can help with? Here's the login information if you can help! Hosting Company Link: www.webs.com (http://www.webs.com) Username: news@sabecorse.net (mailto:news@sabecorse.net) Password: Okeke1
I feel like there was one other issue, but can't seem to recall it right now. Thanks again! -TG

Good morning Travis,
- The Mass times font is the same as the "Sign up for our weekly email and receive a..." Was there another font that you would prefer? Unfortunately, we can't really go off "it doesn't look right," haha, but if you have preference to an example of what font you would like instead, let us know.
- Yes, we should be able to direct that fairly easily, especially since we now have the login information. I will get one of our developers to look into that.
If you remember the last issue, let me know and we will see what we can do about it.

Hi Veronica,
Two things regarding the mass times section on the main page.
1) Could you use use the same background image on the mass times section as you do on the daily readings? See the attached screen capture.
2) Being that it is such a plain section and the differences in header vs. body font styles stands out, could you change "Mass Times" to the same font as the body font type?
3) We're going to begin replacing all of the English on the Spanish side with the translations. We noticed almost immediately that the alignment of the "mass times" section on the Spanish side was offset. Please take a look. Thanks! -TG

Travis,
Mass Times
By "change 'Mass Times' to the same font as the body font type," do you mean change Mass Times to the same font as "Saturday 4:00 pm?"
I just want to point out that if we do this, Mass Times will be the only section on the homepage that will not have the Serif Font as the rest of the homepage.
Here is what it would look like if we changed it all to the same body font:
I don't think it would look like it belongs on the website at all since Parish News, Weekly Email, Pastor's Corner, Daily Readings, Bulletins, myParish App, all page and post titles and even your logo have this font.
Here are my options that would help keep with the theme and keep the Mass Times section from looking completely out of place:
- This one simply made the times unbolded, so as to look the same as the top menu items (Events, Mass Times, Bulletins, etc).
- This one mimics the font size layout of the Parish News right below it. "Mass Times" is the same size as "Parish News," "Saturday" is the same size as "College Prep 101," and the actual mass times are a little big bigger than the post content.

Could you please screenshot this section? I kept changing my screen size but could not see what you meant. For me it is centered.

To redirect the domain, we need the domain login information. According to MXToolbox, you are using Cloudflare as your name server. As far as yesterday's messages, I have made a list of items for the developer to begin changing, so he will be working on those today.
Another thing I did want to mention is that the developer, Ryan, will be out of the office Thursday and Friday. In order for him to make all the necessary changes for your launch date of this weekend, we will need any last minute changes/fixes sent to us before 9:00 am tomorrow morning.
For the domain redirect, did we want to wait until Monday? Of course, the domain redirect is something that can be done by another developer, so we can do that either Thursday or Friday afternoon. This will definitely give the site enough time for the redirect to propagate across all internet browsers/servers by Saturday.

Travis,
Ryan and I were just talking about this, this morning and here is what he said:
The bulletins plugin wasn't built to support languages (primarily date formatting), but could be an enhancement down the road.
Similarly, the App plugin and messages it brings in won't translate. Unless they had a second "Spanish" app, but then we would need to figure out how to have 2 apps on the same site, which is another issue. Best to avoid this if possible.
For the website, we can remove the app portion altogether, but this is something that would have to wait until Tuesday when Ryan gets back.

Nah, I think we just leave it as is. I'll chat with my team just to be sure.
Okay.
Also, are you still looking at launching this weekend? If so, we still need the domain login information to do a redirect.
Otherwise you can launch on your end and we can redirect the domain at a later date.

Yeah, launching this weekend. Still no domain info... I'm afraid we aren't going to find it. I'll see...
Okay. Just let me know!

Hi Veronica!
Hope you had a blessed Easter! We got great feedback after the launch this weekend!
There are a couple of things that I need your help tweaking...
1) On the English side, We Gather, Welcome! the page is in English, but the main menu switches to Spanish. It is the only page where the main menu switches, all other pages are good!
2) Can you please change the email address on the contact page to sresst@standreparish.org (mailto:sresst@standreparish.org)? I can't change those from the dashboard.
3) The Contact Page on the Spanish side is in English--again, I don't think we have the ability to change those. Thoughts?
Thanks again!

Good Morning Travis,
Thank you. I hope your Easter weekend was wonderful.
Great to hear that parishioners are looking at the new website.
- Welcome! page
If we look in the URL (https://standreparish.org/es/we-gather/welcome/) and in the page settings, the welcome page is set to Spanish and does not have an English Version
I have set it to English, with the Spanish Version being "Bienvenidos" (whose English version was not set).
Remember, any page that is set to Spanish will have the Spanish header, menu and footer. - Contact Email to sresst@standreparish.org
We still have this on our list and will be changing this very soon. - Spanish Contact Page
We are currently working on creating a new page template for this. For now, I have created a Spanish "Questions and Comments" form and added it to the page. The Spanish contact page template will have the words "Address" and "Phone" to Spanish.
I will let you know when #2&3 have been updated!
Let us know if there is anything else that we need to take a look at.

Travis,
As it turns out, the email is in the Theme Settings (available only to parish administrators) along with the Mass Times, Header information, and Footer information.
Also, Ryan has changed the Spanish Contact page, as requested.
Thank you,

Hi Veronica!
Hope you've been well! We're a few weeks in and we've received high praise for the efforts to overhaul of the website!
I have encountered something that I hoped the development team might be able to help with. Whenever we generate a new post for Parish News, the newest post appears on the left. Is there any way to flip this around? Thanks! -TG

Hello Travis!
I am so glad to hear that everything has been going well. I think it looks fantastic and is definitely a huge upgrade from your previous static page of a website, haha. You may like to know that we have actually used your website to showcase to others how the Polylang plugin can be used for bilingual parishes.
This is the standard side for new posts to appear, similar to the direction of new myParish App messages. We can most definitely change this to flip (unfortunately only in the posts section), but I must let you know that this is something that falls under a functionality change that we must charge for.
Since Diocesan hosts the St. Andre Bessette website, we can offer you the discounted developmental support rate of $50/hour, instead of our standard $70/hour.
If this is something that you would still be interested in, please let me know and I can get an estimate together for you.

Hi Veronica,
Glad to hear you're able to use our site as an example!
As for the posts section, I'll play with it for a while. If it seems to be a problem, I'll just reach out and ask your team to take care of it for us. I'll keep you posted!

Hi Veronica,
I can't seem to remember how to insert a youtube video into a new post. Could you remind me of the steps? Thanks! -TG

Just kidding... haha. Thanks! -TG
Is there a way to set a featured image, but not have it show in the post?
Travis,
Glad you were able to solve it while I was at lunch.
Did you simply copy and paste the video's link in? You can also do this with any Vimeo video links as well.
As for not having the featured image show in the post, it is not an option, but we as with nearly anything else, we could build this feature in.
Would you like me to ask Ryan, the developer on your project, for an estimate?

Yes please!
Now, before I get Ryan to give me an estimate, I want to make sure; Are you looking to completely remove the featured image on all individual posts (so image shows on homepage, but does not show at all once you click onto an individual post).
Is this correct?
