I uploaded a favicon to Robert and it didn't change. I don't know if it was a user error (aka me 🙋🏻‍♀️) or coding issue

Not your fault, I forgot to remove that setting. Wordpress has a native option to set the favicon under Appearance > Customize > Site Identity > Site Icon.
