Great question, I do not know. With no text and no proof for it, I am inclined to say that the whole slide should be a button, but Blake Stapleton, Web Designer at Diocesan Blake what do you think?

They are wanting the slider to support both video and images. I'd rather them have the ability to have text and a button than make the entire slide a link. They may be less inclined to just make that slider area a huge billboard then.
