Website Content
Good Morning Jeanne,
I am Veronica, the content strategist in the web department. I will be moving your content over to your new website, focusing on making sure the website information is clear, consistent and correct. My primary goal for the website is to make it easy for visitors to find the information they need, as well as making it easy for you and anyone else on the Mary Our Queen staff to edit the website as needed!
I normally have three questions for you, but since we are starting the website over from scratch, the only question I have for you is when should I expect content from you?
Of course, if you are overwhelmed, we can work together to find how you would like the pages to be set up (verses/CCC quotes vs. no quotes, contact for every ministry vs 1 parish contact, etc.).
There are, however a couple other things I need to ask before we move forward:
- What is your current website's login information?
- Who is your new IT point of contact?
Last, I just wanted to say thank you for choosing Diocesan and I look forward to working with you. As a young adult Catholic, I think it's so important to be able to reach your parishioners through a website that easily gives them the information they are looking for. As my college-town priest would say, "You can't join a ministry if you don't know it exists." Plus, I previously worked in a parish office, so I don't want to give you a website that is going to make much more work for you.
I truly think that together we can create a website that is perfect for both your parish office and your parishioner's needs!
Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions,
Veronica Alvarado

Jeanne,
Feel free to send the content as needed. I do suggest, however, creating a site map first. So for example your current website's site map looks something like this:
Feel free to send the content as needed. I do suggest, however, creating a site map first. So for example your current website's site map looks something like this:
- Home
- Welcome
- Mass Times
- Reconciliation Times
- Sunday Bulletins
- Parish Clergy

- Parish History
- Contact Info
- Ministries
- Music Ministry
- Library
- Faith Formation
- Sacraments
- Building Our Future
- News

I have found that many parishes find this extremely beneficial for realizing what information they plan on having on the website, then filling in the pages.
Don't worry, we only plan on talking to your IT person once we are closer to launching the website. Then we will send him an email to let him know what to change the new IP address on it.
As for the login information, when I try to log in with jsbell and JSBmoqpass2018, it does gives me the incorrect username or password message. Do you know if it has changed?

MUSIC MINISTRY
Liturgical music at Mary Our Queen invites children and adults to sing, play, and participate in the life of the community, encourages all to seek a deeper life of prayer and service, and reaches across the great musical traditions of the Church. We encourage an ego-free and inviting experience to sing or play to the Glory of God. Our ensembles become small faith communities where we pray for each other and truly become a family of God’s children joined together by His grace.
The Music Ministry is comprised of several different worship styles:
- Saturday 5pm Vigil Mass Contemporary Ensemble led by Ms. Patsy Shontz and various cantors.
- Sunday 8:30am Traditional Music led by a Cantor and occasionally the Children’s Choir (ages 6-17) directed by Mrs. Kate George.
- Sunday 11am Traditional Choir directed by Dan Marcacci and accompanied by organist James Pinder with oboist, Elizabeth Pinder, Violinist, Matthew Marcacci, and Cellist, Aaron Pinder.
- Sunday 5pm Contemporary Band directed by Dan Marcacci.
======
MUSIC MINISTRY TEAM:
Dan Marcacci, Director of Music, Mary Our Queen
Mr. Marcacci grew up in the Midwest and began studying piano and voice at the age of five and began playing for the Catholic church in Eighth Grade on both the piano and the Organ. As a freshman in a Catholic High School he led a teen folk choir at St. Monica's Catholic Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and began his organ studies with a professor at Kalamazoo College, Paula Romanaux. He competed in several Bach competitions and played for both the Methodist Church and Baptist Church to further his knowledge about worship and liturgy.
He pursued a dual Bachelors degree in Music/Organ Performance and Telecommunications from Indiana University. Dan studied Organ under Dr. Robert Rayfield, Dr. Larry Smith, and Dr. Marilyn Kaiser. During his college studies, he was the accompanist for the Singing Hoosiers, ambassadors for Indiana University and its alumni associations and worked with Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops on a Grammy nominated recording entitled "A Disney Spectacular." He also traveled with the group throughout North America, Greece, Yugoslavia, and Australia.
For almost 30 years, Dan has held positions in the Archdiocese of Atlanta as Director of Liturgy and Music at St. Patrick, Director of the Life Teen Band at Prince of Peace and has worked as Principal Organist at St. Jude and St. John Neumann. Dan accompanied the St. John Neumann choir on their trip to Italy in 1999 and was principal organist for several concerts throughout the country including St. Marks in Venice, St. Ignatius in Rome with a National Radio audience, and High Mass at St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican.
Dan and his wife, Thea have three boys that have all participated in music ministries. Dan owns a video production company, Video Quest, that is credited with several Telly Awards, Addy Awards, and Regional Emmys. He also owns and manages an import-export business that sells textbooks and musical instrument cases worldwide through Amazon.
Dan Currently directs the Mary Our Queen Traditional Choir and Leads the Sunday Night Band on Piano and vocals.

High School Youth Group: Life Teen
What is Life Teen? It’s a dynamic youth ministry that concentrates on leading teens closer to Christ through strong Eucharistic spirituality and dedication to our Blessed Mother. It’s nothing like a classroom setting…every Life Night is broken into parts and feels like a mini retreat with friends, food, games, and faith.
Join us Sundays after the 5:00pm Mass for Life Night!
High school teens meet on Sunday nights for Life Night right after following the 5:00pm Mass. All teens in 9th -12th grade are welcome to attend. We begin with food and fellowship. Topics vary and are presented through awkward games, speakers, skits, music and activities, followed by small group discussion, and Adoration.
Life Nights are on most Sundays during the school year. Be sure to check out our calendar and summer schedule, and join our Groupme to stay connected.
For more info contact Kelli Coan at kcoan@maryourqueen.com
________________________________
Retreats: Retreats are one of the highlights of the year. They truly are a life-changing experience. There is a fall retreat for all 9th –12th graders in November.
Service: We as Catholics are called to live a life of service as Christ did. We want to be the hands and feet of Christ to those who are poor both physically and spiritually. Service flows from a life of prayer, rooted in the Sacraments, which is essential to every service activity. Opportunities will be announced throughout the year!
Activities: We’ll have many opportunities for socials and outings including XLT which is a monthly night of worship where teens from around the diocese gather. See the calendar for upcoming events.
ADULTS OF ALL AGES—Want to help lead teens closer to Christ?
Mary Our Queen CORE Team: The youth group would not happen if it weren't for our dedicated CORE team. These are young adult and adult volunteers that have a desire to invest in the lives of teens. They team up and help plan and attend youth group nights, retreats, trips and commit to on-going relational ministry with the teens. If you have a love for your Catholic faith and a desire to share it with teens please consider joining us on CORE.

Hello! Good afternoon!
It's always great to see content come through to me, so thank you so much for sending me this information.
I plan on logging in to get the calendar/plugin details from your website, but I will most definitely be pulling content from your current site. For the most part, I don't copy and paste it directly, but rather organize your information in a way that is intuitive and easy to find for a visitor. For example, contact information should always be in the same place or documents under a section titled Important Documents, etc.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Again, thank you for this information!

Jeanne,
Is there any way you can send me the same document, but the actual text document instead of a scanned image? This way, I can copy and paste the text and links into your website rather than retype everything and risk typos.
Also, I should have this all on your website by tomorrow morning.
Thank you so much for your patience!

Thank you for sending me these photos and the ministries information. I have made the changes that you mentioned and will begin adding the ministries tomorrow morning.
The Vanco giving link is the "Online Giving" tab that is already along the top (in the menu).
