Do you remember if these are the actual dimensions or the mockup dimensions?

Those were dimensions that I measured on the current dev site using a chrome extension and double checking with inspector I am pretty sure. It was a couple of weeks ago, but I am pretty sure they are accurate today.

IDK what those dimensions are for. If they're for the homepage, then we need to talk with KS because the homepage slider should remain a ratio, not a set height. Siiiighfhbjhjihbjkfhijofhbhdvjnklmvjdfbhdvkfnsdmjfmhn

These dimensions that I listed were for the slider images, but yeah, since they are a ratio then I don't really know. Kyle Sullivan, Web Development at Diocesan Kyle doesn't like having it be a ratio either. I don't really understand what they are getting at with the ratio, so someone should probably explain that to me. Haha

Did we figure this out yesterday morning?

I know KS doesn't like aspect ratio for the homepage slider because it usually goes against what the designers do as a "fold", but we have to walk the fine line of doing what is best for them and actually giving them a product that functions as they expect and/or need. Like if I ask for a fork and you give me a spork, you might think it would work perfectly and even helps me in the future. But what if I asked for a fork so I could put my mac n cheese noodles on the individual tines? Then a spork doesn't work.

Just so you kinda understand, they want to be able to put an image of people, like how they have with the choir picture, but they don't want people's heads and bodies to be cut off.

So, similar to Sacred Heart Elk Rapids, they want the image ratio to stay the same no matter the screen size. That way they know how to crop their images and not have people cut out of the screen.
And I understand that. With a slider, it's not so much that they want to add text on the image, it's more so that a parish is made up of people and they don't want these people's heads cut off lol

My head in almost every picture is cut off. I understand that not everyone is like me though and does mind having their head cut-off....in pictures. I understand what the aspect ratio and stuff are, but part of me thinks that there could be a compromise saying, "here are the dimensions that will look the best, but it will still work with other pictures with different dimensions. I don't see how that shouldn't be able to work. Like it does aspect ratio, but here is the best one that makes it look the best. However, I see how that could be potentially best for one screen over another, i.e. Desktop vs phone. Those two may vary completely as a desktop is usually widescreen and phones are usually portrait/vertical.
