I've made these adjustments in /sass/primary/home/_news.scss.

Specifically, I adjusted the base opacity on the arrows from 0.5 to 0.75, and they fade to an opacity of 1 on hover. It's subtle. It would bring Blaké great joy.

And, despite my reservations about using #000 for websites, I've adjusted the color of the excerpt body text.
