Content Strategy

Good Morning Jorge,

I hope you have been doing well since you last spoke with Alan.

My name is Cody Armock and my role here in Diocesan's web department is as a content specialist. This means, that in addition to going over what areas of your current website are staying or going, I also help you find the most effective way to layout your website. I will be helping you in this process from now until the training before the launch of the site.

This not only helps us build you a website that is easier to edit and manage but also allows anyone visiting your website to accurately and consistently find the information for which they are looking.

Thinking about content before the design is important because it will make the design process easier and tailor it better to your needs. It is similar to building a house. Content strategy is figuring out how many bedrooms and square footage you need when picking floorplans. The design process is the customizing of the space (walls, flooring, exterior, colonial vs modern style, etc.). Content migration/creation is the filling of your rooms with furniture and your possessions. Without the content strategy process, the house may not suit your needs.

Below is a link to a live Google document of your current sitemap that you are able to edit directly. Please go through this sitemap and make the appropriate edits to display what pages you'd like Diocesan to migrate, as well as removing the items that you do NOT want Diocesan to move.

Once you have completed editing the pages you'd like Diocesan to migrate, please let me know and we will begin making a suggested sitemap for the new site based on your current sitemap. The suggested sitemap is created to optimize the flow and look of your site. We will then send you the suggested sitemap to edit and change as needed and when finished, approve it.

Once you approve the suggested sitemap, we will begin the design process. A designer will reach out to you to begin the design process when we have received the final version of the suggested sitemap. In order for the designer to provide the best design, it is important to revise the current sitemap.

Thank you for choosing Diocesan and we are very excited to work with you on creating a new website for you and the people at Little Flower.

Let me know if you have any questions,

TO THE CLIENT Cody Armock, Web Content Specialist at Diocesan

Good Afternoon Jorge,

I just wanted to check in to see if you were able to take a look at your current sitemap linked below to make sure that all the pages were current and that you didn't need to remove any. If you need to remove any, then just go ahead and delete the item in the sitemap and we will not migrate it.

Once the current sitemap is revised and good to go, please let us know and we will begin making the suggested sitemap and send that out to you to review as well so that when the site is ready, we can begin migrating the content.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you,

Cody Armock

Hi Cody:

Yes I just made the last updates. Pages highlighted green are the must-stay pages.
Those in yellow have helpful information but can be transitioned in other ways without necessarily a dedicated page.
I removed the few pages that don’t need to carry over.
