WAIT!! -Posts - News & Events posts are not showing up if they don't have an event date. Archived

Notes
The posts in the News & Events category with no date don't show up on the homepage or the archive page when they should. Talk to Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan Veronica would make the most sense whether it is event days first then non-dated ones or vice versa.

Again, the issue with mixing News in with Events is going to be that the client needs to determine if they would prefer it to display by posted date or not. Do they want event dates first, then items with no event date? On the homepage, do we only display events? Only posts? Do they need separate categories for events vs posts?

I think it's best to give them the information, potential issues and all, so that they can decide. They're going to have to live with the decision and its consequences, rather than us going back and forth between different options. Lay it all out for them, ya know?

I agree. I am thinking that this is something that would be best brought in training, as I think it would be too confusing over email and I can show them and talk them through the potential issues and get a decision that they would like best rather than them not knowing what they are agreeing to.
Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan
Agreed. Personally, I think a phone call, then email followup with pros/cons/usage is always best so it's explained but also they can share and review before making a decision.

Let me know what they decide. I'd like to make sure this is something discussed thoroughly during design as well (I know they bring it up but may not go too deep into detail of pros/cons of each).

So, should I call him and discuss it now or talk about it and show him during training?
Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan
If you have a training coming up, I would wait until then. We don't have a launch date scheduled fo them yet, so it should be fine.
Cody Armock, Web Content Specialist at Diocesan
I just finished content, so training should be coming soon.
