This was a weird one.

, pay attention! Don't use slugs that match filenames in the DPI Theme!
We should strongly consider reworking the base DPI Theme to use a consistent namespace (no longer having everything be @sacredheartjuliet), and we should remove all templates and files that are not a basic part of every website we build and put them in another hidden repository (so we can pull them when we need them and don't have to rely on hacky workarounds to disable them).
I've disabled this site's child theme from having the Accordion Template in the DPI Theme (page-accordion.php), but I forgot that WordPress would apply page-accordion.php to this page because its slug was /accordion/.
TL;DR. I changed this page's slug to /accordion-example/, and everything works fine.

Ahhh yes, that genuinely makes sense.

I think this would be more of a conversation to bring up in either the department meeting or maybe even more specifically and likely, the development meetings on Monday Mornings (usually). I think this is something that has been something that has been talked about several times, but lack of available time or forgetfulness, or something else has prevented/interrupted this from happening.
TL;DR: Bring this up at the Development Meeting, so that we can get started on this. Maybe it has already been brought up. I don't know. I don't get invited to those meetings.

: I agree with your assessment. I wanted to mention it to you so we can all remind one another to get this done.

I don't even think I made this page to be completely honest since I haven't even gone in to start content, but I appreciate the shoutout and reminder. Thanks.
