Hi Alan --
On behalf of Laura and me, we'd like to thank you, Veronica, and Gary for the time spent on the Deep Dive this afternoon. We appreciate your time and guidance as we look to update our parish presence online.

I'd like to clarify a bit on the "hidden pages" I referred to in our discussion this afternoon, and give you an example or two on the reason for having private - that is, pages that do not appear on the dropdown menus.

The one facet of our website with which I have never been happy is the link to parish events and activities. The website page structure is designed in outline format, and several pages would be way down on the outline format. For example: Ministries - Parish Life - Activities - Golf Outing - Info Page: Registration, Sponsorships

V. Ministries [main menu bar item 5, hover]
G. Parish Life [menu option 7, hover]
1. Activities [menu option 1, click]
b. Golf Outing [Activities page; second item]
i. More Information [button, click]
(a) Golf Info [page, hidden]
(i) Registration [button, click]
((a.)) Registration form [page, hidden]
(ii.) Sponsorships [button, click]
((a)) Sponsorships form [page, hidden]

Because of how sensitive "hovering" can be, it seems more user-friendly to use the buttons to click to the final pages. Likewise, as I said in our conversation, there are several functions/liturgies/etc. that are held each year (Vacation Bible School, for instance) and rather than have those pages active during the periods when they aren't pertinent, their page profile is set to "private" (aka, "hidden.") We've got individual contact pages for each staff member, each of which is accessed both from the staff page by clicking on their info under their picture or from a button on a page that pertains to them (RCIA for the RCIA Director.) All of those pages are "hidden" as they are linked to by other pages.

And those pages add up! Looking at them, there are several that are out of date and can be deleted.

Reviewing the document you sent regarding all the phases of the project, the final point "what defines your parish" under the second bullet regarding what would be covered: neither Laura nor I pointed out what truly defines our parish: warm & welcoming -- and to whatever extent that matters, it something to be sure is conveyed!

Thanks again for your time and input.
