We are all set to dive into your content strategy, starting with a Google Drive folder for content sharing and reviewing your current content.

Below are the current sitemaps of your parish and school sites. Please edit the Google documents directly to indicate which pages will or will NOT be migrated to the new website. We also ask that you add any pages that you anticipate adding to the website for Diocesan to create.

Thanks for sending this over. Just curious... How much of a hassle would it be to start from scratch? I dislike our sitemap a lot and have other ideas. It might be confusing to revise it and easier to redo it. Whatever you think is best, let me know!

We can definitely start over! The main thing we'll want to make sure the new sitemap is in line with your goals and that we are able to keep track of what new pages are going to be using the current pages' content. 

As a quick overview, the steps for this route will be:
  1. IHM creates new sitemap
  2. Diocesan reviews & makes suggestions
  3. IHM reviews
  4. IHM approves
  5. IHM makes content notations (new content, old content moved, etc)
For the new sitemap, will you be providing the Google Document or would you like us to?

Good morning Kelly, 


I had a couple of questions and notes that I added as comments on your document, but I think it's coming along very nicely! The notes you're making are very helpful for determining if it's a drop-down item, a link, or a whole page of content. This will definitely help Blake and I iron out the details of design and content layout as we move forward. 

I added a Diocesan Sitemap Key that we typically use so that comments are reserved for questions or incomplete items. The italicized text is for notes about the content on the page. This way, when we go through the site for content migration/creation, we have a better understanding of the page's expected layout and content. 

And, of course, the sitemap will be reflected in your design so we can see if there's anything that needs to be updated, tweaked, or added once we reach that point.

I went through again trying to tighten up the lines. I eliminated a bunch in Parish Life as they are found elsewhere. My goal is to be as concise as possible yet give the right information for those that are seeking. The quick links are the ones which people use the most. So I was hoping they could get a noticeable presence on homepage. I also like the Get Involved sign up on Sacred Heart page. Would like to do that!

Thanks for looking through it. I definitely agree with you that keeping the sitemap concise and straightforward is best. This way, people know that there is one way to get to things and can expect to find them in their respective menu categories.

Depending on the design of the menu style, homepage, and footer, we'll be able to add most, if not all of these quick links to the main view of the website. I've made a note to your designer regarding this. 

As for the Get Involved on Sacred Heart, are you looking at Sacred Heart here in town or a different parish? Sacred Heart here in town uses Get Involved as their menu title, which we can definitely do for you! Right now, your Get Involved is under Engagement.
