Domain Management
Hi Christine,
It was great talking with you! I checked on domain management questions and here is what I got:
- Pros for Diocesan managing your domain: peace of mind, as we take care of renewing the domain when the time comes and anything else that goes along with domain is taken care of. The cost for domain management is $15 per domain.
- Pros for you managing your domain: the same as the pros for Diocesan, as you all would be involved in your own domain management.
- There are no cons for us hosting versus you hosting, it just depends on your preference. The only thing you would want to be sure of on your side (if you keep domain management) is that the domain information is accessible to someone else besides Dan (when you deem that to be appropriate) so that if he were to ever leave the parish or be unavailable someone could help out with domain. Your domain server going down is rare (based on what I found out here).

We're a go for our web design/dev meeting: Thursday, April 4 from 10:30-noon, eastern. Please send us all a Zoom invite for web conference and dial-in phone.
LYNN - please book the conference room we used last time for our meeting, thx! (If there's a conflict, let me know asap - maybe we can ask them to use a different room that day)
DAN & JULIE - you will both be invited but if you have a conflict, Lynn and I can handle the meeting and follow up w/you as needed. DAN, we will primarily be discussing design elements, navigation breakouts, branding, etc.
NATHALIE - I'll send you docs early next week, by Tuesday latest.
