Content Migration - HFO
Good morning Christine,
Since we budgeted the content migration hours into the original quote, are you ready for us to migrate all of your content into the site and begin filling in those links? If so, please do the following:
- Check over this suggested sitemap that we will be going off of.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/12j3QjwEStxySLO5p1Vu563EFq1JgjX84nt7ElkKObFc/edit?usp=sharing - You have the choice of filling in this template or doing so yourself after training (easier due to Diocesan not having access to images)
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ayK3MIoTzLjoS3xeOeMJu8wsd_kBPtGKg7DwnbpKmOU/edit?usp=sharing - What is the administrative login information for your current website?
Since we are migrating WordPress to WordPress, there is a feature that allows us to export your site's pages and images and import them into your new website. This can save Diocesan hours in Content Migration time.
Let me know once you have made a decision on these three items and I can have Cody begin the migration.
Thank you,
Veronica Alvarado

Hi Veronica –
Lynn and I will be meeting this morning to begin determining which pages to migrate now and which will need to wait. We’ll have something for you shortly.
Thx for staying on top of this for us.

Wonderful.
Since Diocesan will be using the Suggested Site Map to go off of, we ask that you please use the Google Doc to indicate what content is/is not migrating.

Thank you and let us know if you have any questions and/or when you have gone over it and are ready for us.

Perfect timing! Will do.
Hi Veronica –
I’ve updated the doc link below with notes and delineated which ones to migrate now. I’d previously asked if this method will suffice (hope so) or if you need actual urls of the pages.

Good morning Christine,
Thank you for these notes and the go-ahead. Cody will be migrating the content over manually instead of exporting and importing since WordPress has had issues importing from classic editor to the new Gutenberg editor. With these issues, Cody would still have to go through each page and manually restyle them, in addition to removing the pages you did not list as ready to migrate.
Cody is one of our best content specialists and is proficient in moving content while also restyling the content consistently and accurately, thus saving you time after training. That said, the URLs are not necessary, as we can quickly and easily find the pages
Although the export and import of WordPress did not work, thank you for getting the Diocesan login information for your current website. This aids us in recovering images and otherwise hidden content, if any.
Let us know if you have any other questions,
Veronica Alvarado
