As Blake and I began reviewing the functionality of the homepage, we came to the realization that building you a website that has animations like Feed Music and Simply Chocolate would result in much of the homepage being static content and extremely code-heavy. 

In addition to requiring more development time to create, sites like Feed Music and Simply Chocolate become more costly to maintain. I know that one of the goals of your new website was to draw people in and bring in more viewers for the network.  With more viewers, your potential for additional programs increases. With a static site, each time you wanted to update, add, or remove a program or information from your homepage you would have to get in contact with Diocesan and have us quote out the development time and cost before we could make the change. 

Although we would welcome your business, our goal is not to exploit you but to help you grow and more effectively bring Christ to the Catholic public that you serve. Diocesan’s websites are geared towards providing you with all the tools you need while also making it as easy as possible for you to do so. With this in mind, we wanted to make sure that the site can expand as you change and grow to include more or different programs. 

Fortunately, I know we will be able to achieve the same kind of captivating areas and subtle animations while still creating a site that is expandable and editable for you. As Blake continues to design out your homepage, he will be focusing on creating something open, visually pleasing, and intuitive to your viewers like RobiaScott.com and WorldofSwiss.com, while also integrating the transitions, fluidity, and bold design of Feed Music and Simply Chocolate. 

When we meet on Tuesday, we will go over Blake’s mockup and discuss the anticipated animations of the design before going over the next steps in design.
