Posts - Add the date and time is there is one set, talk to Danae about Homepage design and individual post

Assigned to
Sam Pohlman, Web Developer at Diocesan Sam P.
Notes
Danae Chudy, Web Designer at Diocesan Danae since it seems that they want a date, even though it is not in the proof, work with Sam Pohlman, Web Developer at Diocesan Sam to figure out where it should be put, if there is one (set in the backend for posts) for the Homepage and on the individual Post. Thanks. Let me know if this is confusing. Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan Veronica , why are we giving them the option of setting a date if it is not in the proof? I am confused. I think this is why we originally brought in the Events CPT.

We need them to make a decision because the options are:
  1. Posts only (no date, display in published order)
  2. Events only (date, display in date order)
  3. Posts with Dates (may have dates, display in published order)
I would prefer not to use option #3 because almost inevitably they'll come back unhappy with that option.

I was unaware that they wanted the dates, but I'm guessing they brought it up in the training?
It's not in the proof so I hid the events CPT in adminimize before your training, remember? (I think it was this training?) I'm not sure if it was leftover from another site when we pulled it over or if it was discussed during design.

Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan Veronica  I know that we added the functionality of it because in the DesDev we talked about adding the Very Simple Event List plugin to it, so it was way before training and plus there was the Custom Field added to the posts that does the same thing. I don't know if we even need either of them at this point and I only briefly showed that to them, so we might be able to just remove it altogether. What do you think?

Do you remember why we chose to use VSEL?

Cody, if you spoke to the client and don't think they'd miss it, then removing the dates & Events CPT from the site entirely is the direction I'd like to go.

I have no idea why we chose it. My guess is that it was because the Events section said Upcoming Events and we did this DesDev amongst others that needed it. It is not part of the proof and I don't think they would miss it because they never had it lol.

let's remove it then
