Content Strategy
Good morning Krista and Gretchen,
I hope you have been doing well since you last spoke with Nathalie.
My name is Cody Armock and my role here in Diocesan's web department is as a content specialist. This means, that in addition to going over what areas of your current website are staying or going, I also help you find the most effective way to layout your website. I will be helping you, in this process, from now until the training before the launch of the site.
This not only helps us build you a website that is easier to edit and manage but also allows anyone visiting your website to accurately and consistently find the information they are looking for.
Thinking about content before the design is important because it will make the design process easier and tailor it better your needs. It is similar to building a house. Content strategy is figuring out how many bedrooms and square footage you need when picking floorplans. The design process is the customizing of the space (walls, flooring, exterior, colonial vs modern style, etc.) Content Migration/Creation is the filling of your rooms with furniture and your possessions. Without the content strategy process, the house may not suit your needs.
Below is a link to a live, Google document of your Current Sitemap that you are able to edit directly. Please go through this Sitemap and make the appropriate edits to display what pages you'd like Diocesan to migrate, as well as removing the items that you do NOT want Diocesan to move.

Once you have completed editing the pages you'd like Diocesan to migrate, please let me know and we will begin making a suggested sitemap for the new site based off of your current sitemap. The suggested sitemap is created to optimize the flow and look of your site. We will then send you the suggested sitemap to edit and change as needed and then approve it.
Once you approve the suggested sitemap, we will begin the design process. A designer will reach out to you when we have received the final version of the suggested sitemap. In order for the designer to provide the best design, it is important to revise the Current Sitemap. Once that is completed, they will reach out to you to schedule a meeting to begin the design consultation process.
Thank you for choosing Diocesan and we are very excited to work with you on creating a new website for you and the people at Saint George.
Let me know if you have any questions,

Gretchen and I will be in touch with you soon!
Hi Cody: Hoping to get you a detailed site map this week. Is there any way that you could send to me the site map for St. Catherine in Clearwater FL. This is one of the websites that your team sent us that we really like. I think it would help me to organize ours.
Let me know. Gretchen

Hello Gretchen and Krista,
Here is the sitemap for St. Catherine of Siena (Clearwater, FL). They have changed it slightly when they actually made the site, so it has not all been carried over. However, it should give you an idea of their sitemap. I have also made a note about St. Catherine in Clearwater, FL as the basis for your new site's design.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hello Krista and Gretchen,
I just wanted to follow up with you about the sitemap situation. Have you been able to edit your current one to see what content you will be keeping for the site and what might be removed? Let me know where you are at and if the current sitemap is ready, we can go ahead and make a suggested sitemap.
Let me know if you have any questions!
