2/27/2019 Still discussing this with the client. They want it to push to Facebook, so depending on the plugin we'll see if it should be a CPT or just a post category.

Phil sent in a ticket, they want to have Fr. Gene's daily prayer on FB come in as individual "blog" posts on the page. Here is his email - will the SmashBalloon plugin do this?
From Phil:
Presently, it is just linking out to Facebook to display the content. All prayers just have the first few lines displayed with a "read more" link to open the rest. The problem with this is that the read more's do not do anything so you can't read the entire prayer.
If there is a way we could export the data in Facebook and import into a blog format, I would be interested in that solution as that is what was discussed in early conversations. If that can't reasonably be done, obviously the way it is working now does not work. Is there a way to display all content in each Facebook item, or is there a way to have the links function correctly.

In April of 2018, there were changes made to Facebook's API so Facebook:
No longer provides an RSS feed
Requires an access token that must be updated every 3-6 months when no longer in development mode
Only posts to Pages (not groups) can be displayed on other sites
Limited to 200 calls per hour when in development mode
No longer displays photos pulled in from posts
All new apps must undergo App Review in order to gain access to the API
So, in short, we can no longer pull FB posts in as WP posts. We have been using the SmashBalloon one (Pro) to get around these things, but if they want to display actual images, they'd have to pay for the Pro version of the plugin ($49). We can waive the standard $35 plugin setup fee since it was mentioned in the consultation and never followed up on, but we can't waive the fee of the actual plugin.
As for bringing in the FB posts as WP posts, they would have to go the route of using a social media poster like HootSuite, where they create the post in HootSuite ($30/mo) then have it push to multiple media platforms (FB and WP).

Don't we have the developer version of the plugin already? I see it in the plugins folder.

Yes, I see it there. Since that is the case, we would still charge the $49 for the pro version.

Spoke with Phil, he's going to get the FB login information for us so we can set up the plugin.
