1) I determined that using the DPI Modules as the vehicle was the simpler approach since it already has the association to church/school built. I'm adapting a strategy used in other DPI Module instances, and updating/creating a staff CPT instead of a page.

This will allow us to conveniently tap into ACF Post Object relationship for connecting staff to a page/office, without altering existing priest/deacon/religious  functionality.

To complete the component, I'll just need to determine what information is needed to be shown on a page (ie phone number, email address, title)

As for searchable staff, I believe this isn't much different than how I did Clergy for DOSP that covered both Priests & Deacons.   In the case of Venice, its a few more "types" but concepts are the same.

  • Do they want images for staff on pages?
  • Right now, they show Name, Title 1, Title 2, email. Do you want other fields (phone, fax, biography,  etc) to display as well? 
  • Do the staff on pages link to a single staff page? (Similar to clergy)
  • Search - I know we are combining religious/clergy but does DOV want an ALL staff/clergy search page?
