Diocese of St. Petersburg 2019

Office Template, Updates, & Questions

Hello ladies,

Ryan updated the office page template for the changes we had discussed last week:

Quick Links
  • Contact Us will show automatically if the page exists.
  • News and Events will show if a URL link is provided respectively
  • Each office can have up to two user defined buttons.

Feature Panels
  • User determines title, image, summary, and link.
  • New layouts for 2,3,4,5, and 6 items as discussed

Social Media/Subscribe Bar
  • HTML text box for Flocknote embed available
  • Social Media selecter with ability for user to enter link for each account (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo, YouTube, Flickr, Pinterest)
  • Question: It is currently a maximum of 5. What should the maximum be?
  • Question: Will there be any offices that have social media accounts but no Flocknote/subscribe form?

Other Updates

I did ask two questions under Social Media/Subscribe Bar, so please be sure to get back to me about those so Ryan can make any neccessary updates before your users begin logging in.

Then, once the users are set to their correct user role, I believe that you should be ready to train the staff and share their login information with them to begin editing their own pages.

For people to begin editing their pages, here is what needs to be done:
  • Answer 2 questions about the social media/subscribe area of the office template:
    • Question: It is currently a maximum of 5 social media accounts per office page. What should the maximum be? That way, Ryan can style for the maximum and make sure someone doesn't put in 25 social media links or something like that. Is it one of each type of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo, YouTube, Flickr, Pinterest)?
    • Question: Will there be any offices that have social media accounts but no Flocknote/subscribe form?
  • Set users to their correct roles (the previous email explains how to do so in bulk)
  • Train your new users (mostly over categories, office template, & new page/post editor)
  • Give passwords to the users (Diocesan has provided them in your Google sheet)
Let me know if you have any other questions or issues,

Maria and I are going to start editing the pages before our authors/users.
For social media, the Diocese has seven but I think 5 for offices/ministries is good.

Good morning Maria,

Here is the part about assigning user roles in bulk. Let me know if you'd like me to resend the entire email instead.

All user roles have been created. If you'd like, you can go through and assign users to their roles in bulk.
To do this, check the boxes next to each account and click the dropdown for "Change role to..."
Select the role you'd like these users to be, and click Change.
