Diocese of St. Petersburg 2019

New Site is Live

Teresa and Maria,

The site is live!

It was fairly straight forward, and the only real surprise (or reminder rather) was how inefficient updating a domain on a multi-site of 50ish sites is.  Fortunately we won't have to do that again!

I did run into one snag where I found updating non-content links to be an issue.  dosp2.diocesanweb.com is an alias so they will work fine, but I'll need to hit the drawing board in the morning to tackle those.  So if you see some dosp2.diocesanweb links floating around, know that I'm still working on those.

I swept through pages, navigated the site, tested Find a Parish, redirects, site search, and things appeared to be in order.  I did learn something new this evening, and that was autoplay background videos will not autoplay on mobile while your device is in low-power mode.  My iphone just happened to be low when I tested, which caused me to investigate why that was.  So now you know.

The original multisite is now dosp1.diocesanweb.com.  Logins and that sort of thing are all the same as they were.  I did notice some broken images on dosp1 and my plan was to address those tomorrow.

Have a great night!

FROM THE CLIENT Teresa Peterson, Diocese of St. Petersburg Staff
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for all your guidance and support! I trust that you will take care of the non-content links!
The website looks wonderful! I pray that through our content and design, we will lead our website visitors to encounter the love and mercy of Jesus Christ.

God bless,
