Ryan,
As discussed on 1/17, can you redesign the Programs page for CSS so that it pulls from the DPI module to display all the Programs and Services that CSS offers?
Thank you!
Connie
As we discussed in today's meeting, will you please change what is showing on the page: https://scranton.diocesanweb.org/css/find-a-helping-hand/programs/
to basically ONLY show the 36 Programs Found ? i.e. Please remove the search mechanism and map at the top of the page.
Please add a line of text at the bottom of the page, "If you are searching for a specific service, please use our Find a Helping Hand search at: https://scranton.diocesanweb.org/css/find-a-helping-hand/"
Thank you!
I am going through the CSS area of the website and noticed that when the Programs page was redesigned to list all programs, the search feature was taken out of Find a Helping Hand. I think there was some confusion that I'd like to clear up.
When clicking on the Programs link in the menu, visitors should be directed to the Programs page that is in there now.
When clicking on Find a Helping Hand, they should be directed to the blocks with the specific needs in them and then directed to the appropriate search page when they click on a block (such as Need Help with Food). Right now, when I click on a block, it takes me to the Programs listing. We definitely need the search.
Only the Programs page was supposed to change.
Thank you,
Connie
Correct, and it will function that way. I'm just in the middle of the changes and you're seeing the in-between phase. Yesterday I completed this leg of the Programs/FAHH task, and today I'm tackling the other, which is the search portion that will return offices (as opposed to programs).
The primary issue here was that both FAHH "with search" and Programs "without search" were both the same page, so I was forced to move one of them. I chose to move the FAHH page with search. I'm working on the filter limiting and search results. The FAHH will land here: https://scranton.diocesanweb.org/css/find-a-helping-hand/search/
I've completed the basic "revised" FAHH search results page, as well as updated the FAHH launch page.
To illustrate, when clicking on "Need Help with Food?", you'll land here: https://scranton.diocesanweb.org/css/find-a-helping-hand/search/?service=109
Search returns Offices.
Please note that the FAHH conversion is not complete, as I still need to attend to some responsive elements, disabling filter options, and perfecting the search results. I merely wanted to show you that both Programs and FAHH are going to work how you explained, just in their own channels so to say.
As for the filtering, please see the attached .csv which lists the services that should remain in the drop down on the search. The file also contains an indication of which services should be filtered out (or filtered-in, more like it) for the FAHH categories (Need Help with Food?), etc. The csv file only contains those services we'd like to remain active in the database (i.e. the metadata).
The EXCEL version shows you which of the services we'd like you to DELETE from the metadata database. These are highlighted in the EXCEL file.
If you need more clarification on any of this, please let me know. Thanks!
At the bottom of the Programs page (scranton.diocesanweb.org/css/find-a-helping-hand/programs/) is a link to the offices page.
This link should go to scranton.diocesanweb.org/css/directory/
