Diocese of Scranton

Hi Ryan, Quick question. When someone does a search for Scott Township on our website, it takes them to Scott Township in Allegheny County instead of Lackawanna County. Can you fix this for us? Thanks so much, Dan

Dan,

Short of figuring out how to geofence the map to the Diocese of Scranton territory, I did the next best thing and included an exception for Scott Township.  This now works as you expect it.

To give you an idea of what is happening, here's how Google interprets things...

When a user enters just Scott Township, Google looks it up in the state of Pennsylvania, and apparently the Allegheny County location outweighs the Lackawanna County location.  I'm intercepting the search, and adding Lackawanna County so that Google knows which one we want in this case.

FYI there is also a Scott Township in Columbia County, PA (relatives of mine used to live there)- I didn’t know there was third one, near Pittsburgh!
