Hi Ryan,
I got the following email today. I am thinking the easiest way to combat #1 is change the wording to "# clergy found". #2 appears to need a bit more attention. Can you please take a look?
Thanks,
Connie

Subject: New website and Clergy Directory issuesHi Connie,Just writing to you about some things I noticed on the new website:Under the Clergy Directory”1. “Priests and Deacons” – if you click on one of the letters of alphabet, the heading says “<#> priests found”, even though the list shows both priests and deacons, and it is counting the deacons in the number of priests.2. If you click on “Deacons only” – the list of 94 deacons comes up, but if you then click on one of the letters, the priests are also included, and again, it says <#> priests found” and it’s counting the deacons in the number.
Susan was spot on with the alpha calculations, as the alpha filters completely ignored the four filters above (rank, name, position, location). They did indeed include all clergy in the calculations. Initially, core filters and the alpha filters were done separately. Fortunately, it doesn't take a ton of coding to get them in sync where alpha acknowledges the core filters (ie Deacons Only, then clicking B yields 5 Deacons starting with B).
I've gone ahead and done this as well. I've tested things out (actually found a different bug and fixed too that while I was at it), and I'm happy with the results. The only thing to note is that the core filters will not honor the alpha selection, given that those are one time clicks. If you wanted them to be interchangeable, I could go to the drawing board and see what I can do. Alternatively, I could convert the alpha filter to a dropdown selection like the others.
