A few pages under Child Protection / Victim Assistance not rendering well in mobile

Notes
Hi Veronica,

I got this feedback from Kathy Bolinski yesterday:

1.       Under “Report Abuse” – The flow chart does not show up well on the mobile site.
2.       The Parish Compliance Chart, Parish Volunteer Chart and FBI Instructions also do not look good on the mobile site.  They are located under Background Screening Compliance and SE Policies and Procedures.

Is there anything you can do to improve the mobile responsiveness on these pages?  I think you built them, so I'm hoping you can fix them up!

Thank you!
Connie

To make it mobile friendly and more user friendly, I would probably just take it out of the table and do it in a numbered list that would look something like:

  1. Make a Report by Calling Childline Immediately & Complete CY-47
    Pertinent information goes here.
    1. Make a Report by Calling Childline Immediately
      Pertinent information goes here.
    2. Complete CY-47
      Pertinent information goes here.
    3. Option: Electronic Reporting
      Pertinent information goes here.
  2. Inform Person in Charge
    Pertinent information goes here.
  3. Call Local Children & Youth Agency
    Pertinent information goes here.
  4. Receive and Save Status of Report Letter
    Pertinent information goes here.

That way, its easy to read on the website and on any mobile device. Also, this makes it extremely clear as to what the steps are and what order they should be done in. Right now, it is in a table because the information I was given was in a table and had Inform Person in Charge and Call Local Children & Youth Agency next to each other. This can be confusing for readers, because they may see it as an option since they are both "Next". Instead, I believe that they need a clear formula to follow.

Since I did not advise you on the mobile responsiveness of a table and simply moved content as I was told, I can re-do the Report Abuse table into a list, with Kathy making edits thereafter.

Parish Compliance Chart | Volunteer Requirements Chart

I recommend using PDFs, as you have done with the Volunteers and Coaches Chart and the School Personnel Chart. Unfortunately, tables are not something that are very mobile responsive, especially when there is so much content in each column. I looked up several ways to display a mobile friendly table and came to the consensus that there are ways to help with data display, but for wordy content, it is best seen in a PDF.

I have converted the original files that I was given into PDFs:

FBI Federal Check Charts

I see two different options for displaying the service codes:
  1. PDF version of the Service Codes chart
  2. Remove column with department and simply make a note of which department.
All School Personnel And Volunteer codes are PA Department of Education. All Parish Employees and Volunteer codes are Department of Human Services.
It may be easier to simply make a note that all ______ codes are Department of _____ and use the table for Service Codes and Applicant Type columns only. Then the table won't run over the side.
