Good morning Fr. Andy,
My name is Daniel and I'm working on building your new websites over the next few weeks. I've cc'd our team member Veronica, who will be working on your site as well, specializing in content presentation. Since your previous Church and School sites are built in WordPress, would you be able to share or create a login for us, so we can export the majority of your pages and posts to help with content migration?
Once we've completed the initial framework we'll share a link to the development site so you're able to see the progress as it's being built. If you have any questions now or during the build process, please feel free to reach out, and we'd be more than happy to answer them.
Once we reach the final stages of development, we'd like to schedule a time for training on the new sites. Any staff who you anticipate helping with the sites is welcome to join. This involves a phone call and screen sharing, generally taking 1-2 hours depending on familiarity level. I have attached the full, updated word document with our responses on certain things. We fixed and updated all the other issues. I putting below the nine items were either for you to decide, content for you to put in, or resolved with an explanation:
- 1a - Resolved -Navigation Menu not staying in a straight line when page is smaller
- The words can only go so small before it moves to two lines. If you go smaller, it becomes the mobile view and you must click to open the menu. (Note: most mobile responsiveness issues are fixed right before launch)
- 1cii - You - Google Events not showing more information
- This is an issue with how events are put into your calendar. Since most are recurring events, you can simply edit one, save and click "Update All Events". Additionally, if you would like to, there is the option to add notes to your events. If you need help on how to do these things, give us a call and we can go through it together.
- 2c - You - Mass Times including post-Mass fellowship opportunties
- This is entirely up to you. In addition to adding these things on Mass times, people also add it to the “New Families” page. This way the new families feel welcomed and have the opportunity to mingle.
- 4c - Resolved - "New Parishioners" vs "New Families"
- Went with New Families. It sounds more welcoming and inviting than “parishioners”
- 6a - Resolved - About Us Menu confusion with "About St. Brigid"
- I reordered the menu and changed the name of "About St. Brigid" to "Our Patron Saint" and reordered the menu items. This may be changed by you at any time.
- 8a - You Decide - Calendar navigation buttons not clear
- Daniel was able to make the arrows larger and bold, but if you would prefer the words “Next” and “Previous,” let us know.
- 9c - You - Preschool and Kindergarten Liturgy of the Word
- Content issue/Something you can change
- 10a - You Decide - Adult Faith Formation Opportunities being cut off
- Each opportunity is a post, so it is automatically pulled in. If you prefer each one to be an excerpt, we can add a “read more” or “continue reading” link at the end of the excerpt that links to the full page. We simply did not want the list to get too long and text heavy.
- 10b - You - Tuesday AM Women's Bible Study is not listed
- Opportunities are posts, so there is not currently a post for it. If the Bible study is permanent, you can add it above the opportunities.

Perfect. I have let Daniel know that we are going with the labeled navigation.
As for mobile responsiveness, this is actually the last thing we do as we build the site. It is normally done the week or so before launching, as it is a lot easier to complete the entire site then do mobile responsiveness, rather than change one thing, make it mobile responsive, change another thing, make it mobile responsive, and so on.
To be more direct, the site will definitely be mobile responsive when the site launches.
