Website Launched!
Hello, Rhonda -
Congratulations, your new website is now live and visible to the world!
I'm still not seeing the live site. Why is that?
The industry standard for launch changes to propagate is 0-72 hours. However, it's been my experience that you can usually see these changes within 2 hours. You will know it was successful when visiting https://stbernardappleton.org brings up the site seen here: https://stbernardappleton.diocesanweb.org.
If you can see the website on a computer or mobile device not using your parish's internet, it may be that your parish's internal server needs to be reset or may have the IP address of your previous host manually set up. If this is the case, you will have to talk to your IT person, as this is not something Diocesan can help with.
New Login Page
Although you will now go to https://stbernardappleton.org/appleton to log in, your login credentials are still the same.
Statistics
Since your website is now live, we have also added the ability to track your website's statistics.
Feel free to view the statistics by clicking Statistics. This will give you access to see what devices are being used, how people are finding your website and your top pages/link.
Support Moving Forward
As you may have noticed, on your WordPress Dashboard, there is a Diocesan Web Support box with links to help articles that we have written especially for our websites, complete with step-by-step instructions and images. This should help with most of the questions that you may have.
You do also have another 2 weeks from your launch date to call and ask us any questions for free. After those 2 weeks, the paid support will go into effect. Paid support is $70/hr (prorated) and is billed monthly to the parish with each support items (date, amount of time, notes) itemized out.
If you have any issues or questions in the future, please email us at webdepartment@diocesan.com or call us at 877-923-0777.

Greetings Mary, it’s nice to be working with you again. Please be patient with me as I am still learning the new word press and layout of our new site. I do have a few questions for you.
1. When someone is accessing our site from their phone or tablet, the giving tab at the top does not take them anywhere. Is something missing in th set up?
2. You make reference to “Diocesan Web Support box with links to help article”. I don’t see that on our dashboard. Am I missing something? I believe that box is missing.
3. On the Pastoral Council page, how can I adjust the spacing between the names. I have them set up for 2 columns and that is good but it looks like after each name, it is a new paragraph. All I did was hit the return key to begin the next line.
4. Also at the end of this page, I have a colored box and would like to center that on the page. Is that possible?
5. When I try to print a report in the prayer requests report (results as csv), this is what I get. I also get this with the results in a printable browser window. I was able to access the reports in the working site before we launched.[cid:image003.jpg@01D78D06.485A5A00]
If you need to call me, I will be home for about an hour. My number is 920-475-2204.
Blessings,
Rhonda

Hello, Rhonda!
It's nice to be working with you again - your site is beautiful!
The Support Dashboard is indeed missing right now - we've removed it from all of our sites because it's currently undergoing an update and we hope to have a replacement for it soon. In the meantime, either Cody or I can send you any articles you may need for support.
For the Pastoral Council page, you can change the spacing by doing a soft return - hit shift and enter at the same time and that'll take you down a row in the same paragraph block, and not start a new block. Hitting just "enter" takes you into a new paragraph block completely, as you've found. So try a "shift-enter" instead and that'll keep your spacing closer together.
I'll take a look at the giving link - it's usually the same link for desktop or mobile, so if it's not working just on mobile it's likely in the menu settings somewhere. I'll see if I can get that working! I'll also take a look at the colored box and the prayer printing. I'll let you know what I find.
Thank you,
Mary

Rhonda,
The giving link is fixed - I just added the page again and deleted the existing, as that seems to have solved the problem. You may need to clear your phone's cache or wait a bit to see that fix in place.
When you are done editing the Pastoral Council page, let me know and I'll take a look at the colored box - do you mean the dark blue box at the bottom of the page? I'm sure we can center that and I'll send you instructions on how to do it once I'm in the page.
Thank you!

I fixed the Pastoral Page. Yes, the dark blue colored box at the bottom. It is so great to work with you.

Mary, I think I sent this to myself instead of you. So, here you go.

Hello, Rhonda!
If you sent an attachment I won't be able to see it through Basecamp - it doesn't allow attachments.
Could you forward it to me at webdepartment@diocesan.com instead?
Thank you!

Mary, I am trying to create a few advent images for our site and need some help with the correct size. What is the size I need for the home page banner. I believe it is the Hero. Right now, we have a video and will be changing it to some images. Also, how do I put some narrative over the image with a link to another page. If you want, you can call me at 920-475-2204.

Hi Mary, I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. My was OK, nothing special.
Mary, I wanted to talk with you about an issue we are having with the Contact Us Forms. At least 95% of the ones we receive are spam and mostly from another country with some garbage language. Some even come in with profanity. I'm not sure what to do. I wanted to check with you before we make a decision about whether to keep this on our site. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions?
Blessings,
Rhonda

Hello Rhonda,
Mary is out of the office today. I went into your website and reconfigured your security measure, the Recaptcha, for the forms to be more secure, and for it to be a checkbox rather than the invisible captcha that just judges the user on how they are filling it out. If it is a human filling it out, then unfortunately it won't protect against that, but against bots it will. For now, it is best to probably just delete the ones that are not legitimate. I will check with Mary tomorrow to see if there is more that can be done.

Hi Cody, thanks for looking addressing this.

Rhonda
Let me begin by saying Merry Christmas and an upcoming Happing New Year. I hope you had a good and peaceful Christmas. All was calm and peaceful hear in Appleton. Now I'm back to the grind with updating our website and I have a question for you.
On our Parish Life page stbernardappleton.org/parish-life/, I just noticed the Care Ministry Services Box and Serve Box are right next to each other. There is no spacing between them like the other ones. I don't remember seeing that in the past or I just didn't catch it. Is there something that can be done to space those 2 apart like the rest? I don't seem to find a way to do that. Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Good morning Rhonda,
Merry Christmas!
I checked out your site and I tried adjusting the size and even tried on a different size screen. Here is what I see:
Could you send me a screenshot of what you are seeing?
