Design Introduction

Thank you for reaching out to us. At this time I have been working with Cody on the site map and a few questions came up regarding the design and the options available to us, so I am definitely wanting to talk with you when you are available.

You referred to “based off the notes from our initial meeting”, I’m not sure exactly what you have. There were a number of items that were discussed with Alan and Blake after the initial meeting. Did they give you all the information we spoke of in regard to what we wanted for the homepage layout?

One area that I just found out has to do with the bulletin. When we originally started and worked Alan, he presented the 2 Transfiguration sites for us to review. One was the demo and the other was the template. We went through these sites in making our decisions and our decision on the bulletin was based on one of the options presented in the demo site. The bulletin gave tab 4 options. We wanted to use the 2 column option and was under the impression that was OK. However, after talking with Cody this past week, he informed me that the options on the demo site for the bulletin were only available if we used Diocesan to publish our bulletin. We were not told if we have LPI as our bulletin provider, we had to use another option. He gave me a site to look at. We are not in favor of what this site shows. I’m hoping we can talk about this and see if there is something close to what is presented on the demo.

Thank you for responding. I would be available tomorrow or Wednesday. If either day would work for you, what time would be best? As far as the bulletin page, we do not like the one from St Augustine & St Edward. We would like something like what is in shown in the Transfiguration demo. That was the one we thought we would be able to use. Also should we do a zoom for our meeting?

Per our conversation from this morning, our committee would like to go with the colors that are used in the style of the Transfiguration demo.

We will review these colors with the staff on Tuesday and see what they say. If you have any other ideas for a warmer look, please let me know.

I’m confused? This is the template design. It has nothing on our design layout. Can you explain further what this site does for us please and what we are to do with it?

I’m still a little confused. Can I call you later today. I don’t see the calendar and exactly how it is set up. There are some questions and thoughts about the color, etc behind the mission and Mass times.

I’m getting ready to travel back home and will return in about 2-3 hours. What would be the latest I could contact you today?

This is correct. It should be the last section before the footer. Also, the “View all News” line should read, view full calendar and that link will take them to the full calendar, not the news page.

Yes, I was able to show it to the web team and the staff and they all liked the layout of the home page. There were just a few items and I believe I mentioned them to you last week.

**We need to make the Catholic Church | Appleton, WI under the St. Bernard name in the header a little better. It is too faint. It appears OK on some computers but not on others. It needs to be consistent so that no matter what computer/monitor they are seeing it on, it is clear.

I’m wondering if you make that one of the other colors, either #0066BO or #AC7445, if it would come up clearer.

Can you see how one of those two colors will work?

I’m also attaching the mission statement for you to see how you can work with the vine image and layout

This looks good. Question, we want to make sure that down the road if we change our mission or want to change what is in that location, we will be able to do that? Is that correct?

So, let me see if I understand:

1. This is an image, correct?
2. It can be changed to another image or another just text?

Lastly, someone asked if the Catholic Church could be the same color as the St. Bernard? Would that still stand our or what do you recommend?

I would say we can move to the development stage. By approving the design stage we are approving the colors and layout of the homepage, knowing that there may be some tweeks with images in the background and colors in the background for the footer and Mass section.
