Next Steps - Content Strategy

Good morning everyone,


Thank you for sending over the signed copy of the proposal. 
The next steps will be to begin reviewing your current content and determine what information will be migrated and what content will need to be created from scratch. 

Since Diocesan will be a bit more involved in your content creation, I think it would be best to follow these steps for Content Strategy:
  1. Current Sitemap Review
    Review current pages, as well as their content and determine what information is being migrated, what will need to be updated, new pages, and what pages we will be ignoring altogether. 
  2. Brainstorm for the Future
    New ideas for pages that parents and/or prospective parents want to see. New ideas for pages that parishioners/visitors want to see. 
  3. Create Pre-Design Suggested Sitemap
    Begin the organization process for where these pages will fit on a sitemap and begin determining main menu items. 

During this initial Content Strategy phase, you will be in the design queue. Once a designer is ready to begin your project, they will reach out to you and use the information provided in the Content Strategy phase to determine menu items and information used within the mockup. 

After the design is finalized, we will once again review the suggested sitemap, make any necessary updates that the design has allowed for, and approve it for content migration. It is at this point that all images and new content should be shared with Diocesan. We will also begin to look at the layout of pages and the content so that during migration, everything will remain consistent (image style, heading usage, contact information format, etc.)

I will be reaching out to you by the end of next week with your current sitemap, a Google Drive folder for images/content, and some suggestions for future content.

Before we begin reorganizing your new website content, we ask that you please review what is currently on your website.

To help with this, we have created a sitemap of your website's pages and put them in an editable document for you to made additions, remove pages, or make any notations about the pages. This will let us know what pages are to be migrated, which ones are simply being left behind on the old site, and which pages don't exist yet but will be added in the future.
