Development Link & Training
Good morning Fr. Steve & Brenda,
We have reached the point in development at which we share a link to the development site with you.
First, I wanted to go over the missing content from the website and then get into the training and development site.
Things We Need From You
We still need the following items from you. Please let us know if you will be sending them or if you'd like us to remove them from the site.
- Access to or Content from these pages:
Training Sessions
The first training session typically takes ~2 hours and is done remotely via a screen share program. We will send over the meeting link and phone number in a later email.
During the training sessions, we go over:
- How to edit the homepage content
- How to edit the footer
- How to edit the menu
- How to create/edit inner pages
- How to create/edit posts
- How to create/edit image galleries
- How to create/edit online forms
Since this can be a lot, we break the training down into two sessions:
Session 1: Editing the site basics
Session 2: Editing the additional site features & answering follow-up questions
This is completely up to your learning pace and how much you feel comfortable covering at once.
Development Site Link
Something to keep in mind is that the site is not quite completed yet, with the largest thing being mobile responsiveness. That said, it is best to look at the development site on a desktop computer, rather than a laptop or smaller screen. Mobile development/responsiveness is something that the developer completes after the training so that he can update any changes along with the original development!
Other than that, if you see anything that alarms you (design or functionality), please let me know and we can address your concerns.

The proof has it where the hero image (the big image on the Homepage) takes up the fold (the whole screen) when you first get there, so no buttons are visible initially, so I will make a to-do for that.
The View All Events button goes to Funerals right now because there are only two categories with things in them right now: News and Funerals, but that category and link can be changed later, which we will go over in training.

Hello Brenda,
On the proof, there were buttons on the homepage but not visible when you first come to the website, if you scroll down though you will then be able to see the buttons. What do you mean by the first page? The homepage, in terms of the proof, is supposed to have them, but if by pages, you mean what appears on one screen at a time then when you first get to the homepage, you will not be able to see those buttons. We do not have access to the backend on your current site, so I am not sure what is going on with it, so we did not change anything. If you go to all posts in the backend, there should be a filter on the top of that page that says "Trash" and you should be able to find your post in there or you can create a new one. Other than that, I don't know what is going on. We didn't change anything here.

2. On the buttons under the main picture, please make sure the blue shapes are all the same size - even on the 2nd row. (reminder of the names of buttons should match those on "homepage 3" only adding one for "Family of Parishes".
3. On the Parish Events and Happenings - please reduce the space between the titles and the 'stay up to date' next line.
As far as the requested training dates - I can go ahead and schedule that.
Thursdays at 1:00 are preferred. Both training dates would need to be held before Nov. 6. Please let me know what works best for you!

Here is a picture on my laptop.
The resolution is 1366 x 768.
When you look at the draft on homepage three, you can tell a little bit of the scaling from if you look at the size of the logo in relation to the picture. In the sample, which is what we worked with Blake on, you can see the ratio is much different. On the approved sample, it showed the logo over one of the lights, and you could even see the light dangling down.
Whatever that proportion is, that is what we would like on both sides.
As far as the dates, does the 15th and the 22nd work in your timeframe as far as when we should actually get those trainings in? Or do you recommend something different that I need to go back and check with our staff?
