Content & Project Update

Hello Janis,

I am so sorry that we haven't gotten in touch with you! I promise that we did not forget you! Normally my first email to you would have been asking for a sitemap, but you had provided the sitemap to Blake. Since I already had the sitemap, I mistakenly thought that I had already sent you an email.

Over the last few weeks, we have been moving your current website's page content that you indicated on the sitemap you sent over to us. As of right now, you are #4 in the development queue, so we wanted to get started on content before development so that when your website is finished being created, we can immediately schedule a training and get you started!

Are there any forms that you would like us to recreate as online forms? Typically, parishes send us their formation registration forms, parish registration forms, etc. If so, please attach them and indicate what email their responses should be sent to.

Currently, we need the following information from you:
  1. Who currently own your domain? (Name & Email)
  2. When we launch your new website, will it be using the same domain? (http://allsaintsva.org/) If not, what is your new domain?
  3. Date of current hosting renewal (if any).

Please let me know if you have any other questions and again, I am so sorry about not reaching out to you sooner.

Veronica:
Thank you for your email. Just to clarify, we want to use the content that I provided that corresponds with the sitemap and not use the content that is on the current parish website. Let me know if you need me to resend our content document.

In answer to your questions, the only form we would like to create at the outset is a general contact form to sit on our Contact page. We aren't moving to online forms at this time. Here are the answers to your other questions:

1. Who currently owns your domain? (Name & Email)
Registrar: InMotion Hosting - 888-321-HOST / www.inmotionhosting.com (http://www.inmotionhosting.com)

2. When we launch your new website, will it be using the same domain? (http://allsaintsva.org/) If not, what is your new domain?
Yes, that is the correct domain, although we would like to have it be an https site so Google will display it as secure.

3. Date of current hosting renewal (if any).
December 11, 2018

Thanks for your assistance. I need to give an update on the status of the website build at a staff meeting on Wednesday. Can you provide an approximate time that the site would be ready for me to access? I have a background in web design/development, so once I have access, I know I can build it fairly quickly as the site isn't that deep. Our hope was to get the new website up by Advent or else we will need to wait until after Christmas.

TO THE CLIENT Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan

Good morning Janis,

If you could please resend your content, that would be perfect. I believe Blake only shared the sitemap/navigation spreadsheet with us.

As for a timeline, we are looking at ~4 weeks before we will send you a link to the development site and schedule a training.  Typically, another 2 weeks after your training, we can launch your new site. Since have the background and may be familiar with WordPress, we may even be able to launch sooner.

Mid-November is our target goal, giving us 2 weeks of cushion room. So we would definitely be able to have the website done by Advent (December 2).

Thank you,

Veronica Alvarado

Veronica:
Here is the information from my April email. I didn't bother making updates to the attached at this time (we have new staff, etc.) as we are planning to make the updates once we start our end of the build. Each page of the content document is in the order it appears in the attached navigational flowchart.

Thanks,

Janis

Blake:
I am attaching the navigational flowchart and content document for the All Saints Catholic Church website. I thought it would be helpful for you to have these documents prior to our meeting.

Don't worry about the images that are included within the content document. I will be uploading them to the site once we get to our editing phase. Prior to our meeting, I am going to select a couple of images for the full width scroller in the header of the home page.

I look forward to speaking with you next week about the home page design and site build.

Many Thanks,

Janis DeVore

Veronica:
I can definitely do whatever is necessary to speed up the process on our end. I have a lot of experience in building custom sites and Wordpress sites, plus I manage the All Saints Catholic School website which is a Diocesan Publication site.

Please let me know if you need anything additional.

Best Regards,

Janis DeVore

Thank you for sending that over to me. We'll get working on that for you ASAP.
As for speeding up the process, I think your experience is definitely going to come into play once we send you development site link. Once we reach a certain point, we can have you editing content while we are still developing the homepage, for example.

I have made a note on your project so that we know to contact you as soon as the site is at 50% instead of 80% (when we show our usual clients).

Thank you and I hope to move this forward as quickly as I can.
