Content Strategy

Good morning Frank,

I hope you have been doing well since you last spoke with Alan.

My name is Cody Armock and my role here in Diocesan's web department is as a content specialist. This means, that in addition to going over what areas of your current website are staying or going, I also help you find the most effective way to layout your website. I will be helping you, in this process, from now until the training before the launch of the site.

This not only helps us build you a website that is easier to edit and manage but also allows anyone visiting your website to accurately and consistently find the information they are looking for.

Thinking about content before the design is important because it will make the design process easier and tailor it better your needs. It is similar to building a house. Content strategy is figuring out how many bedrooms and square footage you need when picking floorplans. The design process is the customizing of the space (walls, flooring, exterior, colonial vs modern style, etc.) Content Migration/Creation is the filling of your rooms with furniture and your possessions. Without the content strategy process, the house may not suit your needs.

Below is a link to a live, Google document of your Current Sitemap that you are able to edit directly. Please go through this Sitemap and make the appropriate edits to display what pages you'd like Diocesan to migrate, as well as removing the items that you do NOT want Diocesan to move.

Once you have completed editing the pages you'd like Diocesan to migrate, please let me know and we will begin making a suggested sitemap for the new site based off of your current sitemap. The suggested sitemap is created to optimize the flow and look of your site. We will then send you the suggested sitemap to edit and change as needed and then approve it.

Once you approve the suggested sitemap, we will begin the design process. A designer will reach out to you when we have received the final version of the suggested sitemap. In order for the designer to provide the best design, it is important to revise the Current Sitemap. Once that is completed, they will reach out to you to schedule a meeting to begin the design consultation process.

Thank you for choosing Diocesan and we are very excited to work with you on creating a new website for you and the people at Transfiguration.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Cody,

We had started doing some of the page identification already. We put it on hold when we were told it would be a while before Diocesan could get to us. Let’s get back with our meetings and we’ll get back to you.

Frank,

That sounds like a plan. Let me know when you are finished editing the current sitemap and we will start on the suggested sitemap.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hello Cody,

I have gone through and identified the pages that we would like Diocesan to Migrate. The ones not listed will either be deleted, or we will migrate ourselves based on the theme that Diocesan will supply.

I have also listed the pages that we would like to Redesign, meaning not simply migrated but we need Diocesan expertise to redesign the pages. Those pages are typically the main page for each department and the home page.

We can talk further once Diocesan is ready for us.

God Bless,
Frank Gonzalez
