Domain Transfer

Good afternoon Jennifer,

You have let us know that you would like your stmctk@ncats.net domain to be transferred to Diocesan.

There are two ways that we can go about doing this:
  1. Provide Diocesan with your domain login credentials and we will initiate the transfer OR
  2. Your current domain owner can initiate the transfer

1. Provide Diocesan with Login
Below are the things we need for the login:
  • Login URL
  • Username/email
  • Password
Once Diocesan has initiated the transfer, you will still need to send Diocesan the Authorization (EPP) code (emailed to domain owner).  If you believe that there will be an issue with this, please let us know.

2. We Will Initiate Domain Transfer
  1. Unlock your domain
  2. Send us the Authorization (EPP) Code
  3. Send to email webdepartment@diocesan.com
  4. Diocesan initiates transfer
  5. You confirm the transfer
  6. Transfer complete!

Let us know if you have any questions or are having trouble finding who your current domain owner is.

Jennifer -
Yes, you're correct - the email was inadvertently used instead of the domain name, my apologies!

It appears that stmctk.org is registered at GoDaddy, so if you have the login information and want to provide it to me, I'll work on transferring the domain to our eNom account.  If you prefer, you can log in and retrieve an EPP/auth code that will let us transfer the domain.

If you need any help figuring out how to get an auth code from GoDaddy, just let me know.  Thanks very much,

Hello Mary,

To my knowledge, we had our domain name transferred from GoDaddy to Winhost on 10/14/2013.

Username: 0027102
Password: W3bsite

I'm not 100% sure these are the correct. However, they are the only username and password I can find in my documentation.

Thank You,
TO THE CLIENT Mary Goeldel, Diocesan
Thanks, Jennifer -
I'll try logging in and let you know what I find!
Thank you,

Mary

Great Thanks!

Jennifer -
I was able to log in to Winhost.  The account shows suspended as of 2018, and when I clicked on the domain to unlock it (which we have to do before a transfer) I have the message "The Domain Name has already been moved away."

I just tried a "username retrieval" at GoDaddy, just on the off-change it's there, and it said it sent a 6-digit code to stmctk@ncats.net.

If you get that code, could you let me know what it is?

Thank you!

Hope that helps. Thanks so much!

Yes!  It let me ask for a reset password link to be sent.  You should get it to that same email address.  Could you go ahead and reset the password and then let me know what it is?  We'll see if your domain is living at GoDaddy - that'd be wonderful if we find it there!

Thank you,

Mary

The new password is #NewPassw0rd.

I'm not sure what the username or customer # is.

Thank You,

I'm sorry!  Your user name came back as "stmctk."  I'll give it a try, hoping this is what we need!

Thank you!

Well, that was the original purchase of the domain through GoDaddy, but it is not there now.

I dug a little deeper in at Winhost, and it is saying that the domain is active but that it expired July 28th:

Should I try renewing it?  I'm not sure whose credit card it may be attached to.  If we renew it at Winhost and transfer it, the time purchased does move with it so we aren't out any money.  Should we give that a try?  There's a Renew button there - let me know how you'd like to proceed.

No. We cannot renew it. The credit card it is attached to is with a person who is deceased. That was the whole reason we canceled our website in the first place.

Can't we just use the same domain name? It shouldn't be owned by anyone anymore.

I apologize. I don't understand at all how any of this works.

Thanks for your help!

Also, the domain should not be active. It went inactive in August.
TO THE CLIENT Mary Goeldel, Diocesan
I sent Winhost's support an email asking them to reinstate the account.  I updated the account with Diocesan's credit card info, so that's not a problem.  The account is technically in your name so I'm hoping they will reinstate it without issue and then we can transfer the domain to our eNom account.

I copied you on the email I sent them and I'm hoping they'll just reinstate it - we'll have to wait and see.  Unfortunately, there's no other way to keep that domain name that I can find, but I think this will work.

Thanks so much for your help with this!

Ok. Great!

I guess if we have to get a new domain name, now is the time before we get our new directories printed.

Hopefully we will not have to go that route.

Thanks again!
