Mary School and Church 2020 - Charlevoix, MI

Launch Date?

Good morning Kendall & Laura,

I just wanted to follow up with you to see if you had a requested launch date in mind. On our end, we would need the launch to be between Monday and Thursday to give us another day of work to help you with any questions that you may have.

We also like to have around two weeks' notice from the launch date to get everything set with the domain and make sure everything is ready for the launch on our end.

This also gives you time to make any final edits before it goes live. You can, of course, make edits once the site is live/launched too, but this way everything starts off on good footing as it were.

Let me know what you have in mind for the launch date and we can go from there!

Thank you,

Cody, I apologize but I thought I already gave you the go ahead for the 11th. So, I guess if you need 2 weeks, I would say 2 weeks from today: the 19th.

Thank you!

Hello Laura,

I must have forgotten to put it in the calendar for the 11th. We can still do the 11th, a week from yesterday if that works for you still?

Sorry about the confusion!

Yes, that should work! Thank you- Just to clarify, once the sites are “launched,” everything on the current sites will be transferred to the new ones and then I update from there right? I shouldn’t need to access the old sites right? Sorry- this is all new- nervous!

Hello Laura,

Once the dev sites are launched (Church & School), the current ones will not update anything on the ones launching automatically. Anything that you want on the launch site should be brought over to the current site. I have exported the posts from the last two or three years for the Church and School sites. Some of the post may need a little bit of care with featured images and things, but for the most part the content should have been brought over.

After launch you should not need access to the old site, if it is truly needed there are ways, but it is much easier to migrate anything before the launch!

If you add any posts to the current site, it is recommended that you make it on the dev site too. Probably easier to make it on the dev site and then do that copy all content trick to bring it to the old/current site.

Let me know if you have any questions!
