School Site Launch Today
Good morning Fr. Jegar & Al,
As we prepare to launch your website this morning (9:30 am - 2:00 pm), we ask that you please refrain from logging into the development website (one ending with ".diocesanweb.org") and making any changes until you receive an email from us letting you know that your website is launched. This way, nothing will be overwritten or go unsaved as we change URLs and add SSL certificates.
Please let us know if you have any questions, otherwise, someone from our team will reach out to you this afternoon.

Cody,
I don’t think the website is ready to launch.
The landing page is still a double picture which we have discussed is not what we articulated during the design portion. Also, I have a lot of building to do on the parish side but continue to run into problems. I do not want to launch an unfinished site.

Hello Fr. Jegar,
We were just going to launch the school site, not the parish site or the landing page. I got confirmation from Al about that and that's why I just had the School Site in the subject of the email. Is that still okay to launch or should we wait to launch them together?

Oh. You can launch the school site. Sorry for the confusion.
No worries, Father!
I realized after the fact that it could be a little confusing in the email as I didn't say it in the email. We will just do the school site today and after the second training, we can talk about launching the parish and landing side.

Sounds good.
Can I continue to edit on the parish side. And is there any way to make the default featured image under themes setting less tall? Also is there a way that on each page that image going across could actually be different as to match what the page is about?

Hello Fr. Jegar,
You will be able to make edits to the parish side after the launch is done for the school, but as we launch the school today, it is advised not to since your changes may not be saved.
What do you mean make it less tall? You can crop the image to make it aligned differently since it will take the very center of the image and put that as the focal point. Lastly, yes, you can change the featured image of a page in the right sidebar and that will change the image at the top of the page, so they can be more relevant to the page. It is best to use aesthetic images up there where the content does not matter so much. For images that have words or the aspect ratio is important, it is best to use an image block in the page content for those.

This image which appears on every page is huge and takes up too much space, especially that it cant be a unique picture to each page. Is there a way to make it narrower from top to bottom? Or is there a way to make it a different picture that actually corresponds to the page. Otherwise, I need to just use a general image, and it is too big. You have to scroll down to get to any substance. Does that make sense?
Hello Fr. Jegar,
That looks to be a Responsiveness issue, that on your laptop, the image needs to be shrunk vertically. I will make a to-do for the developer to fix that and make sure it is correct on the other screen sizes as well.
Also, you can change that image on each page using the featured image selector in the backend editor as shown highlighted in the screenshot below.
I hope this helps!

Good Morning Al,
Just wanted to see if you were able to find the domain info for https://stmaryschoolbr.org/. If we do not get it by 1pm today, then we will not be able to launch until next Monday, December 6. Again, it looks like the domain is through GoDaddy.
Thank you,
