Domain Transfer

Hello Mariana,

You have let us know that you would like your http://www.stmarysmc.org/ domain to be transferred to Diocesan.

There are two ways that we can go about doing this:
  1. Provide Diocesan with your domain login credentials and we will initiate the transfer OR
  2. Your current domain owner can initiate the transfer

1. Provide Diocesan with Login
Below are the things we need for the login:
  • Login URL
  • Username/email
  • Password
Once Diocesan has initiated the transfer, you will still need to send Diocesan the Authorization (EPP) code (emailed to domain owner).  If you believe that there will be an issue with this, please let us know. 

2. We Will Initiate Domain Transfer
  1. Unlock your domain 
  2. Send us the Authorization (EPP) Code
  3. Send to email webdepartment@diocesan.com
  4. Diocesan initiates transfer
  5. You confirm the transfer
  6. Transfer complete!

Let us know if you have any questions or are having trouble finding who your current domain owner is. I also wanted to check and see if you prefer that we purchase a new domain name?  Let us know if you have a list of domain name ideas (in order of preference) and then we will search the domain names to see what is available.

Hi Mariana,

I was able to look up the domain names and got the following results regarding availability:

  • marymotherofthechurch.org - UNAVAILABLE
  • marymotherofthechurch.com - AVAILABLE
  • marymotc.org - AVAILABLE
  • marymc.org - AVAILABLE

Let us know your thoughts and we can try to purchase the one you prefer! One suggestion I do have is maybe choosing one of the last two domains because we will be creating google emails for you - the shorter the domain name the less likely people are to make errors when typing in your email address to communicate with you. :) Mary can share her thoughts on this too!

Also, we recommend that we transfer your current domain (stmarysmc.org) so that way you maintain ownership - this prevents a common issue we have seen where other individuals purchase available church domains and use it to store inappropriate content.  Transferring the domain and maintaining it under your affiliation would prevent this issue.

Let me know which domain you prefer and your thoughts on transferring your current domain, and then we can work on getting the domain(s) all set up.
