Previous Homepage Elements & Editing

Hi John & Nikolai,

The website is now live and I just wanted to let you know that I went through the homepage again this morning to make sure that we had all the appropriate information and I wanted to go over where things are now found:

  1. News
Your news posts will now be displayed using Posts. Specifically, the Homepage post category. For each of these posts, they should have a title, content, and featured image. The featured image dimensions are 600 x 400 px.
Also note that you can set each of these posts to expire using Post Expirator when creating the post.
  2. Flocknote
I have created a copy of your current Flocknote page. However, the activation link does not work and has been crossed out to signify that the link does not work.
    https://smip.diocesanweb.org/flocknote/
  3. Liturgical Minister Schedule
I have added a link to your Liturgical Minister Schedule to the Liturgy & Worship page.
    https://smip.diocesanweb.org/ministries/liturgy-worship/
  4. Pastor's Blog
Pastor Mulcahy's blog remains as a link to his current blog website and is accessible through the Media Center button on the homepage.
  5. Watch Our Masses
All of 2019, 2018, and 2017 Mass videos have been linked and are accessible through the Media Center button on the homepage.
    https://smip.diocesanweb.org/mass-videos/
  6. Homily Podcast
The audio homilies for December 2018 - present are displaying on the website through posts. Specifically, the Homily Podcast post category. For each of these posts, there should be a title (date) and content (iFrame or uploaded audio file).
Please note that the Google Drive folder must be changed to public, otherwise people will simply see an error (see image below).
  7. Change of Address Notification
Using Forms within your website, we recreated your Change of Address Notification form. It had been added to a page using the shortcode (HTML code in brackets). It has been set to send responses to stmarysoffice@smip.org. This can be changed by editing the form's Notification Settings.

  8. Watch Our Parish Missions
As discussed, I have moved all of the past parish mission videos. They are embedded within the page.

  9. The Maculate Podcast
For now, I have uploaded Episodes 1-6 to the website. Similar to homilies, they are displaying on the website through posts. Specifically, using The Maculate Podcast post category. For each of these posts, there should be a title (Episode ##),
    https://smip.diocesanweb.org/the-maculate-podcast/
  10. Financial Updates Videos
All Financial Update videos have been added to a page, in which the videos have been embedded.

  11. Volunteer Opportunities
The volunteer opportunities that were on the current site are now displaying on the website through posts. Specifically, the Volunteer Opportunities post category. For each of these posts, there should be a title, content, and featured image.
These posts display on the following pages:

  12. Adult Formation Opportunities
The volunteer opportunities that were on the current site are now displaying on the website through posts. Specifically, the Volunteer Opportunities post category. For each of these posts, there should be a title, content, and featured image.

Hi Veronica,

Thanks for the info! I have a couple things to ask you as well.

1. Could you change the Daily Mass time to 7:30 am on the Homepage?

2. For the contact us forms, is there a way to get those forwarded to a few different email addresses? I was looking around and I didn't see a way, but I probably just missed it.

3. Could we add a second general user profile for other people on our staff to use?

Thanks,
John

Hi Veronica,

I figured out the Mass time update, so no worries there.

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

I'm glad you figured out where the Mass Times were.  As for your other questions, I have an article that goes into more detail as to where the form notification settings: http://support.diocesanweb.com/support/solutions/articles/43000484337-how-to-update-a-form-s-email-notifications

If you are trying to send the message to multiple emails, simply type in multiple Send To email addresses like this:

If you are trying to send the message to multiple emails dependent on a field the visitor selects, then please give me a call and we can run through a quick, free training on how to set up conditional fields to configure routing.

Last, we can most definitely create another, general user account for you. Please let me know the following information and I will set that up for you:
  • Username
  • Email (for password recovery & sending login information)
  • Name of Account (General Account, Backup Account, etc.)
  • User Role (parish administrator or limited role?)

Thank you,

Veronica Alvarado

I have begin creating the account, but for the user role, would you like them to have the same level of access as you? (Menus, footer, mass times, etc.)

Thanks John,

Yeah, that's fine. They won't need that level of access, but I think it would be better to have them have full access just in case.

Thanks,
John
