Good morning Barbara & Judy,
I hope you have been doing well since you last spoke with Danae!
My name is Cody Armock and my role here in Diocesan's web department is as a content specialist. This means, that in addition to going over what areas of your current website are staying or going, I also help you find the most effective way to layout your website. I will be helping you in this process from now until the training before the launch of the site.
This not only helps us build you a website that is easier to edit and manage but also allows anyone visiting your website to accurately and consistently find the information for which they are looking.
Below are links to Google documents of your current and proposed sitemap. The current sitemap shows your current site's menu structure and flow. The proposed sitemap is what we suggest for your menu based on our previous experience and what would work best in terms of usability. The proposed sitemap is created to optimize the flow and look of your site.
You can edit the proposed sitemap however you would like, adding pages, removing pages, etc. The proposed sitemap will act as a guide for the content migration process. Please edit the document directly to ensure that the same edits stay throughout all versions and that the content migration process is accurate.

The Spanish Pages will have the same format, with PolyLang, basically, there will be an English Page and a Spanish Page that are kind of both in the same spot depending on which language they select. If it is only between Nov 1st and December that might work better as a post where it would show up on the homepage. You can, of course, add it to the menu under Donations and change/update pages and menu whenever you would like. Usually, however, the menu and pages are pretty static and are used for things that generally don't change much. Basically, it depends on how your preference though. There are a lot of options with it and that iGiveCatholic could be promoted in a lot of places. We can cover the different options in training when we get there if you would like.
The sitemap is not the end-all-be-all of the site as the site will be completely editable later on where items can be deleted, added, moved around, etc. However, it is a good idea to have as many items as possible to be in the proper order because it will make less work for you later on!

Good afternoon,
Been working on our new website and I have questions and concerns.
I noticed our pictures are not bright/light yet. I thought this was going to be a change. Can this be done please?
Under the bulletin section, I only see the current which has this week's bulletin. It only has the slot for 2 bulletins and we asked for 4 weeks. My understanding that Diocesan will move the bulletins down each week. Is this right?
I do not remember if you showed us how to put a PDF on our website, can I have direction on that, please?
The immigration page on the bottom right shows my email and password. Please remove that box. That link is no longer good.
I also noticed a Covid ad on the reopening page, bottom right corner. Please remove. How did that get on there?
On Fr. Jim Notes: Is that something that I will post each week to our website?
I took off the Blood Drive and it in the trash.
On the confession page, I change the picture of it but it's sideways and I am not sure how to turn it around. Can you explain, please?
We updated on Baptism and Quinceanera requirements. Please look at it and see if this looks right? Can this information be put on the Spanish page or should we only have the English on the English side and Spanish on the Spanish page? I am attaching the Quinceanera in publisher to make sure I did this correctly?
Under the parish and service. We have some of our volunteers as a head person but we have the word Staff above the group. How can that change?
Under the Donation tab, online: I see we have the old St. Mary’s icon still on there. Is there a way to replace that with our new image?
Still working on our Facebook page. I have written to them twice and nothing yet? If our page is not working.
If we cannot get our page working do we put a sign that says” under construction”? 😊

I hope to be back in my office on Monday. Wednesday the 17th after 1:30 pm central time would be the best time to talk.
Fr. Jim is looking at the website and I am sure he will have some changes too. I will probably need an account in his name down the road.

Good Afternoon Barbara,
There is a lot to unpack here, but I will do my best to answer them completely

- Images: We switched the opacity of the background before to make the text on the image still visible. I have now taken away the overlay entirely and put a thin border around the menu items, and the text over the featured images as well as the Homepage Hero text. Let me know if I missed a spot.
- Bulletin: Since the bulletin is done through Paluch, there is not a way to automatically pull them in. In the training, I said that, if you switch to doing bulletins through Diocesan, we have a system that would automatically pull it into the website. As of now, since it is not Diocesan, you would have to upload the old bulletins and replace the links.
- How to add a PDF (goes with #2 above). There are a couple of different ways to do this.
- Most versatile
- Open the Media Library once logged in, drag and drop PDF in there or add new
- Once the file is in there, click on it to open the Attachment Detail window
- On the right side, select/highlight the File URL
- Right-Click and click Copy
- Go to the place you'd like to link the PDF, make a link as usual (highlight text and paste in the URL)
- File Block
- Add new File block (Plus button or /file)
- Click Upload or Media Library and find file
- You can then hide the Download button in the Settings Sidebar (right-side
- Rename the Title by selecting/highlighting the text next to the Download button and changing that to what you want it to say
- Most versatile
- Immigration Program: I do not see your information in the login form on the bottom of the Immigration Program. I think that is from your browser's autofill.
- Reopening Page Covid Ad: can you send a screenshot of it? It may just be an image that can be removed in the backend.
- Fr. Jim Notes: I believe this was just an example of something you could do, but if you wanted it, it would be best to keep it updated each week.
- Rotated Image: This was wonky. It happens every now and then depending on the Meta data of an image. I used the Image block's toolbar and used the Crop featured and then clicked the Rotate button and then clicked Apply and needed to resize it. It is good now though.
- Baptism and Quinceanera: Everything looks right to me. There doesn't seem to be English and Spanish pages, but rather the Spanish section is below the English, which I think works.
- Individual Ministries: I changed the wording from "Staff Members" to "Ministry Contact"
- Online Giving: That is through your Vanco system that is not through Diocesan. You would probably need to contact who set that up and change the logo there.
- Facebook: I think this might be another browser or individual computer issue (like the Immigration form) because the link from the menu leads me to the correct page.
- Fr. Jim account: Just send us an email when he needs it and we can go ahead and make that account and send out the information for it.

Sorry about not getting back to you but the freeze put us down for a couple of days.
Thanks for the information.
I am going over my notes from the beginning and we talk about a slide on the front page that would host pictures of our church and its events, maybe 5-7 phots. We did this on our Wix page and were hoping that we could have that here too. Give people a sample of what our parish life is. If you can go to the Wix page, you will see that. I do take photos for the church so I hope to update them after each event if we ever get back to normal.
I am not seeing this on our website. I would think we would put it before the parish news? Or do think after?
Fr Jim has not said anything about the website as of right now, so no passwords for him.
My goal is tomorrow to hit the website hard and be ready to go live on Wednesday.

On the homepage, the top image is a slider where you can have up to 5 pictures that you can update any time. You can add a link to any posts, pages, URLs that you wish on that slide image as well.
If we are to launch Wednesday, we need to move a little quick. We would need domain access, which looks like it is through GoDaddy. It also looks like in the initial proposal we were transferring the domain for Diocesan, so we can do that at this time too to make it as seamless as possible. The login should work for this link. Just let us know the username and password, we would need this information by Wednesday in order to launch.
