Development Link & Training

Good morning Debbie,

We have reached the point in the development process in which we share the link to the development site with you. First, I wanted to go over the missing content from the website and then get into the training and development site.

Things We Need From You
We do still need some information from you, if possible. Otherwise, we can simply remove this item from the website.
  • Instagram Access for the Youth Ministry Page (https://www.instagram.com/saintmarylifeteen/) is the account that the old site uses.
  • The Whine with Fr. Doug page has an issue with the first/most recent video. The error that we have found says that it is because 3rd party viewing has been disabled on it. Here is a link to the video that we have experienced issues with. The other videos have not had that issue. Please have the administrator of the video take a look and make sure that the option is turned off. I attached a photo of what the error is at the bottom of this email.

Training
The first training session typically takes ~2 hours and is done remotely via Diocesan's version of TeamViewer. At the beginning of our phone call, I will walk you through how to set up the remote access program.

During the training sessions, we go over:
  • How to edit the homepage content
  • How to edit the footer
  • How to edit the menu
  • How to create/edit inner pages
  • How to create/edit posts
  • How to create/edit/use image galleries
  • How to create/edit/use online forms
  • Any other questions that you may have
If this seems like a lot, something we have done in the past is breaking the training down into two sessions:
  1. Editing the site basics  (pages, posts, menu, homepage)
  2. Editing the additional site features & answering follow-up questions (forms, galleries, etc.)
This is completely up to your learning pace and how much you feel comfortable covering at once.

Development Site Link
Something to keep in mind is that the site is not quite completed yet, with the largest thing being mobile responsiveness. That said, it is best to look at the development site on a desktop computer, rather than a laptop or smaller screen. Mobile development/responsiveness is something that the developer completes after the training so that he can update any changes along with the original development!
There is one other big item that we are still working on:
  • Map styling
Other than that, if you see anything that alarms you (design or functionality), please let me know and we can address your concerns.

Please let me know what dates and times work best for the training or if you have any other questions,

Error for the Youtube video

FROM THE CLIENT Debbie Ridder, Mary-Fort Walton Beach Staff
HI Cody,

For some reason the other videos had "allow embed" and this one did not. I fixed it :)

The instagram access is: username: saintmarylifeteen
password: stmary

I am available Monday, 4/20 anytime you are available. I can be available Tuesday as well. Then I am out of town until 5/28. I have been doing website edit for a few years now, not pro by any means but I think I can handle the 2 hour training.

Thanks

Good morning Debbie,

I fixed the video post on our end and it displays on the site now. Unfortunately, when trying to add the Instagram, for better or worse, it thinks that I am a suspicious login and wants to send a code to what I am assuming is lifeteen@saintmary.life, which I would venture to say is managed by either Michael Florian or you. I attached a photo below of what it looks like. I will leave the screen open, so if you could get me that six-digit code that would be wonderful and I can proceed with setting up the Instagram feed on the site.

As for training times, would Tuesday, 5/21, 10am-12pm work for you? Will there be anyone else being trained with you, if so, will they be doing it with you the same place or do we need to set up a conference call? Let me know if that works for you.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments!
Thank you,

Cody Armock

Central time Cody?
TO THE CLIENT Cody Armock, Web Content Specialist at Diocesan

Hi Debbie,

10am-12 noon CT on Tuesday, 5/21 will work for Veronica and me. I will be sending you the information for the meeting on Tuesday before the meeting so that it is up-to-date and accessible. Will you be the only one in the meeting?

Do you know who is in charge of the Instagram Account and who would've received the six-digit code to login, so that I can get that set up for you? If not, then it can be done at a later time.

Thank you,

Cody Armock

Hi Cody,

Tony Ferreira, DOO, will meet with us as well, at least initially. He may not stay on for all the training.
His email is tony.ferreira@saintmary.life.

HI Cody,

You can attempt the Life Teen instagram again. Michael did receive the codes before so he'll be looking for it and send it to me as soon as he gets it.

Thanks
Debbie

Hi Debbie,

The Instagram feed has been added on the Youth Ministry Page (link below). It must have been that it was enabled by Michael.
