Content Strategy

Good morning Fr. Bob,

I hope you have been doing well since you last spoke with Alan.

My name is Cody Armock and my role here in Diocesan's web department is as a content specialist. This means, that in addition to going over what areas of your current website are staying or going, I also help you find the most effective way to layout your website. I will be helping you in this process from now until the training before the launch of the site.

This not only helps us build you a website that is easier to edit and manage but also allows anyone visiting your website to accurately and consistently find the information for which they are looking.

Below is a link to a live Google document of your current sitemap that you are able to edit directly. Please go through this sitemap and make the appropriate edits to display what pages you'd like Diocesan to migrate, as well as removing the items that you do NOT want Diocesan to move.

Once you have completed editing the pages you'd like Diocesan to migrate, please let me know and we will begin making a suggested sitemap for the new site based on your current sitemap. The suggested sitemap is created to optimize the flow and look of your site. We will then send you the suggested sitemap to edit and change as needed and when finished, approve it.

Thank you for choosing Diocesan and we are very excited to work with you on creating a new website for you and the people at St.Mark.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Hello, I plan to review this week and get back to you by Thursday afternoon. It appears we may have a couple duplicates and we will look closely at those as well. Thank you

Great,

Thank you Father.

We have reviewed the pages and at this point I think we need to copy over all the pages. Thanks
We will refrain from making page changes until we are on the new site. If we need to make changes should we notify you?
What about posts or other items? Do we handle those differently? When should we stop changing or adding to those?
Thank you

Hello Fr. Bob,

I think at this point it might be helpful to explain the process a little more.
  1. Since the current sitemap is approved, we will begin making the proposed sitemap off of that and the deep dive notes that Alan and Veronica took and send that to you for approval.
  2. After the proposed sitemap is revised and approved and the dev site is ready for content, we will then begin migrating content.
  3. Once the content migration is done and the site is more or less ready, we will send out the development link to you, so that you will be able to take a look at it
  4. After that, we will schedule two training sessions so that you will be able to edit the site, the pages, posts, images, menu, header, footer, etc.
  5. After the two training sessions, we will then be ready for launch.
After the training sessions is when you will be able to edit the posts and pages and have access to the development site to do that.

We will email you when we are ready to migrate content from the current site, that way you can edit anything up until then. After that email, please let us know when something is changed, but for a couple of weeks, you may be editing two sites (current and the dev site).

Let me know if you have any questions!
