I hope everything has been going well and the chaos of Holy Week has settled.
This morning I called Kim and briefly discussed the launch, but I also wanted to send an email with the items that are pending:
  • Hard date for content updates (on your end): __________
  • Tentative Launch Date: __________
  • Homepage: "Pastor's Corner" vs "Homilies" vs "Message from Fr. Bill" vs other
  • Domain information for lukespot and gvsucatholic
    (I know we wanted to forward gvsucatholic, but were having issues obtaining login information)
  • Homepage: "News & Events" vs "Community Events" since you mostly post community events on your current homepage.

Launch is entirely up to you guys, I just wanted to make sure that we don't end up taking so long that there will be more content to update in two places.

Kim, if there is anything that is not covered in the manual I gave you, please give me a call and we can walk through it together.

There isn't any domain information we need as of right this second, but the week of launch we will can give the necessary information to point/redirect the domain to our website/servers. If it is easier, you could give us the login information and we could take care of the redirect for you. 
Since we purchased and manage the stlukegvsu.org, we will take care of launching that site when the time comes.

What we'd like to do when we make the switch to the new website is have our old website automatically direct visitors to the new one.

In speaking with Fr. & others, I have made changes to our front cover tabs. I'll be here at the office all day today, working on this.

I quickly went through the website and here is what I have found:
  • Join Us - your connectnow.parishsoft link is not working. Is there something else you are going to put here?
    • This link is also found on the Welcome page under the red "Register"  and "Update" links.
  • Online Giving - Your giving.parishsoft link is not working. Have you recently switched giving locations, or do you no longer have online giving?
  • Parish Mission - Do you have a parish mission statement? If so, please place it on this page.
  • SCRIP - If possible, please locate the original document and copy the text over. It is currently put in as two images
  • Get Involved - there are curently two "Get Involved" pages. One is under Worship and the other is under Campus Ministry. Do you want to combine these two pages to create one page that has both ministries and volunteer opportunities? If not, I suggest changing the Campus Ministry page to "Get Involved on Campus" or "Campus Ministry Involvement."
  •  Food Pantry - calendar does not exist, but is mentioned on website. Delete or ask for new link to calendar.
  • Other Liturgical Celebrations - Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with Praise & Worship Facebook page does not seem to exist. Find new link or simply remove from page. 
  • Child & Youth Faith Formation - Update Registration information (currently has 2017-2018)
Also, here is the list of items that you will need to update on a weekly/semi-weekly basis:
  • Homilies/Pastor's Corner
  • Posts (show on homepage and specific pages, depending on which category you choose)

Yes, we could do that. Our rate is $20/year to register and manage additional domain names. 

Another option would be to register that domain in your GoDaddy account, and we can point it to our servers like the other domains.

Hello Veronica,

I have already received great comments on our new website. Thank you so much. I did notice that the lukespot.com (http://lukespot.com) is being forward to our new address, but the gvsucatholic.org (http://gvsucatholic.org) is not. Is there a way we can get this to forward also?

I am so glad to hear that people are liking the new website!

I just checked gvsucatholic.org and on my end it is forwarding. It may be that your computer has cached the old website and may take some time to forward to the new site.  You may want to try clearing your cache, or testing it from a different computer.
