Luke University - Allendale, MI

New Website Build Stage

Good afternoon Fr. Bill and Kim,

My name is Daniel, and I'm working on building out your new website based on Blake's design over the next few weeks, as Veronica migrates and curates your content.

Once we've completed the initial framework, we'll share a link to the development site so you're able to see the progress as it's being built. If you have any questions now or during the build process, please feel free to reach out, and we'd be more than happy to answer them.

If you'd like to send your FORMED iframe code, I'll work with Blake and figure out the best way to implement that.

Once we reach the final stages of development, we'd like to schedule a time for training on the new site, where we'll guide you through the Dashboard and Editor. Any staff who you anticipate helping manage the site is welcome to join. This involves a phone call and screen sharing, generally taking 1-2 hours depending on familiarity level.

I appreciate your time and thank you for choosing to partner with Diocesan. If you have any questions or changes, please don't hesitate to reply to this email or give us a call.

Thanks,

Daniel Shamburger

Good afternoon Daniel,

Just checking in to see how things are going and if you need anything further from us.

Thank you,

Fr. Bill

Hi Fr. Bill,

Thanks for checking in. I hope to have a link to the development site ready for you to review by the end of this week.

That being said, our next step is to schedule a "training" session. Is there a particular day in the next few weeks that would work well for you? My schedule is fairly open, with the exception of Monday and Wednesday afternoons.

Thanks,
Daniel

Daniel,

Could we do it on the afternoon of Friday, March 16?

Thank you,

Fr. Bill
TO THE CLIENT Daniel Shamburger
Fr. Bill,

That should work. I'll put it on the calendar. How does 1pm sound good?

I mentioned previously that we generally do a phone call and screen sharing, but I saw in Kevin's notes he mentioned doing the training in person since you're local. Would you like to do this at your parish office?

Thanks,
Daniel

If possible, I would prefer that. Just let me know though. In any case, we'll plan on 1:00 pm on March 16.

Thank you,

Fr. Bill
TO THE CLIENT Daniel Shamburger
Ok, we can do that.
FROM THE CLIENT Fr. Bill Vander Werff, Pastor at St. Luke University Staff
Great, thank you - we'll see you then. By the way do you know approximately how long we should plan on?
TO THE CLIENT Daniel Shamburger
We generally plan on around 2 hours, depending on familiarity, questions, etc.

Kevin also noted you may want a Liturgical Ministry Scheduler built into the site. On your current site, I see a link to https://secure.rotundasoftware.com/l/web-terminal/login/StLukeGVSU?. Do you plan on having this link on your new site as well, or would you rather it be managed within the site itself?

Thanks,
Daniel

Daniel,

Please include the link on our new site as well.

Thank you,

Fr. Bill

Fr. Bill,

Ok, I'll do that.

In communication with Blake, you mentioned an iFrame code from FORMED for the website. Would you be able to provide that for me in addition to the access code?

Thanks,
Daniel
FROM THE CLIENT Fr. Bill Vander Werff, Pastor at St. Luke University Staff
I'm not sure what the iFrame code is. Let me see if I can find that.

Thank you,

Fr. Bill

Hi Fr. Bill,

Here's a link to the page on FORMED.org with an overview of options for putting FORMED on your website: https://leaders.formed.org/. Another option would be to create a banner to put in the slider, and link to a page that has more information on FORMED. We can also even work through some of this during training.

The development site is coming together nicely, and we plan on sending you the link to preview it tomorrow morning.

Let me know if you have any thoughts on how you'd like to proceed. Thanks,

Daniel

Hi Fr. Bill,

Here is a link to the development site: http://stlukegvsu.diocesanweb.com/

As it is a work in progress there are some items that aren't finished, particularly some of the inner pages and archives, and mobile responsiveness.

Please feel free to look over the site at your convenience and make note of any questions or updates.

Thanks,
Daniel Shamburger

Daniel,

Here's what I think is the iFrame code, at least according to this link:

https://leaders.formed.org/iframe/

If you go down to #3: Paste the iFrame code, I'm guessing that that is it. Let's go with a banner for now and see how that looks.

Hopefully that will help.

Thank you,

Fr. Bill

Hi Fr. Bill,

We've added the iFrame from that page here: http://stlukegvsu.diocesanweb.com/online-resources/formedorg/ How does that look?

We could also make one of the slides on the homepage slider link here.

Also, Veronica will be conducting the training on the 16th, but we'll plan on the same time.

Thanks,

Daniel

Hello Daniel,

This looks good; could we also have one of the slides on the homepage slider link to it as well as you suggested?

Thank you,

Fr. Bill
