My name is Daniel and I'm working on building your new website. Here is a link to the development site: http://stlouischurchmphs.diocesanweb.com/ It is a work in progress, so there are parts that are not yet complete, including menus and content, particularly when viewed from a mobile device. Please take a look at let me know your thoughts.
I think at this point we're also ready to schedule a training, where we'll show you how to log in and update content through the user-friendly WordPress web interface. Any staff who you anticipate helping with the site is welcome to join. This involves a phone call and screen sharing and generally takes around 2 hours depending on familiarity level. Is there a particular time in the next few weeks that might work well for you? Our schedules are a bit busy next week before Easter, but the following week would work if you have availability.

These are the changes which were suggested:
1. Instead of the church building on the home page, I’d like to see a photo of some faces….either in a liturgical setting or service setting. It would add a lot of warmth.
2. Instead of the mission statement below the photo of the church, I’d like to see a photo of Father Jolly with a personal message from him with an invitational tone & a message of evangelization.
3. Speaking for the social ministries that will be featured in the ministries section, I’d love to have a dedicated page for each one (e.g. Room in the Inn, Feed my Flock, etc). And, a form on each ministry page whereby people can submit their name, email & phone # to find out more or to volunteer. We are introducing, for example, a new children’s literacy ministry in the Fall, and I’d love to point interested tutors to that page where they can sign up.
I am ready to be trained now, I think. None of those suggestions seem like huge structural issues to me. I will work on getting some pictures to use. My pastor is out of the office all next week so that would be a good time for me to do the training. Would one day next week work for you?

- We can use any photo(s) you'd like in this area, provided they are high quality and close the ratio seen here.
- Not a problem. The message here is editable from the WordPress Dashboard, and I'll add an image field. Would you still like the various clergy members listed on the right side?
- If you have content ready for such pages, feel free to send that to us and we can help get that set up. Otherwise, during the training we'll go over how to add/edit pages and menus so that you'll be able to do this as well.
Yes, next week should work for the training. Our schedule is fairly open, with the exception of Monday morning. Is there a particular day/time next week between 9am-3pm that would work well for you? It generally takes around 2 hours, depending on familiarity level. We can also schedule a follow-up training shortly before launch to answer any questions you may have after you've had some time to get familiar with the WordPress dashboard and manage/update the site.
