Content Strategy

Good afternoon St. Lawrence web team,

I hope everyone has been doing well since you last spoke with Nathalie.

My role here in Diocesan's web department is as a content strategist. This means that in addition to going over what areas of your current website are staying or going, I also help you find the most effective way to layout your website.

This not only helps us build you a website that is easier to edit and manage, but also allows anyone visiting your website to accurately and consistently find the information they are looking for.

Below is a link to a live, Google document that you are able to edit. Please go through this document and make the appropriate edits to display what pages you'd like Diocesan to migrate, as well as removing the items that you do NOT want Diocesan to move.

Once you have completed editing the pages you'd like Diocesan to migrate, please let me know and we can schedule a meeting in which we discuss your content a little bit deeper before our designer creates a design mockup for you. I'm especially interested in the information that you may have gathered from the Website Redesign Input form you've got! Plus, I love your staff page! It's very personal and makes the parish feel very welcoming. I can't wait to make the whole website feel the same way.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Hello Veronica,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Great job on the google doc sit map. I will look through it and see what edits are needed to this page for the next step in the process.

And yes, we have plenty of feedback from our website redesign meetings that I can share as we discuss this site design further.

God bless,

Neil Kennedy

Hello Veronica,

I began going through the site map that was created. I have a question. We have quite a few links on our pages that link to external google forms, videos, etc. We would like these links to be migrated with their respect pages, however, the content they point to would change on a yearly basis (or more frequently).

These external links as listed separately under the site map. What is the best way to handle these on the site map? Delete them from it?

God bless,

Neil Kennedy

I have gone through the google doc and made my updates.

TO THE CLIENT Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan

Good afternoon Neil,

Thank you for going through the sitemap! I know that Danae has you next in her design queue, so I will make sure that she has the link to the sitemap so that she can incorporate it into her design.

As for the external links, if you would like Diocesan to add these links in, please include them in the sitemap. If you plan on uploading them yourself (after your first training session), then you can leave them off the sitemap.
Also, YouTube or Vimeo videos can be embedded into your website's page if you would rather not link off to YouTube or Vimeo. If you'd like us to embed videos, please provide us with the URL/link.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Hello Veronica,

I noticed that there were some pages on our current website that were not listed on the site map. I have updated the site map with these pages. Feel free to reorganize as needed. I know our current site is quite a hodgepodge.

God bless,

Neil Kennedy

Thank you for adding those pages in, Neil. Normally we take what is in the menu, plus I know the original sitemap we used was from your website when we very first began the consultation process.

I will go through it tomorrow and Danae, your designer, has the link to the suggested sitemap, so she will have access to it for design.

Let me know if you have any other questions in terms of content,
