Website Changes as per Training
Good afternoon,
I think this morning's training went well. I compiled a list of items we discussed, as well as items I need so we can make the discussed changes.
Let me know if there is anything I have forgotten or am missing.
Below are the items that we discussed in the training:
- Change all "Mi" to "MI"
- Header icons clickable links
- Change Mass Times to show Saturday, Sunday & "For Daily Masses, see calendar" with link to calendar
- Footer "Formed" icon will go to the FORMED.org page instead
- Remove date under Homepage Parish News
- Change Sacred Heart default image for posts
- Change Sacred Heart Mass Times & Reconciliation Times to theirs
- Look into HTML code privileges for users (Formed.org page)
- Link to "Join Our Parish " page, once completed
- Calendar pages will be set up and linked to
Here is what I will need from you in order to Launch
- Sacred Heart Mass Times
I looked in the bulletin, but was only able to find this week's Masses. This helps, but I don't know if Sacred Heart has seasonal Mass times, as Holy Family does.
If you could please send me the full Mass schedule, this would help greatly. - Join Our Parish page
I have made the page so that we may link to it, but have not filled it out or added it to the menu. I will leave this for you to do. - Sacred Heart default image for posts
Thank you both so much and I will follow up with you on Tuesday, December 19.

1. Sacred Heart Mass times
Saturday 5:30 pm | Sunday 9:00 am (Year Round) 11 am (Summertime)
Daily Mass - (See Calendar)
Confessions
Saturday 4:30 pm -5:00 pm
2. Sacred Heart image for default events is attached. It is hard to get a good picture of the inside of the picture like in Holy Family because too much light comes in from the back windows.
3. Join our parish page - Coming soon!

for confessions I forgot to add "or by appointment"
Don't worry, I was sure to add "or by appointment" in my notes to our developer.
As I told Lanny, I am so excited that the site is all coming together so well.
Again, thank you for sending me what I needed,

Father,
I have found a link that directs parishioners to create an account with the personalized access code already put it. Here is the link:
https://formed.org/home?code=W822F8
You can use this link for the FORMED.org page for the "Register Here" link.
I hope this helps!

Veronica,
Thanks for the link for formed.org (http://formed.org). We'll use that.
Here are the list of the users we will like to have.
1. Master Admin (can create users) We'll keep this account on file in the parish office
1. username: parishadmin
2. email: admin@hf-sh.org (mailto:admin@hf-sh.org)
2. Lanny Velasco
1. username: lvelasco
2. email: sacredheart@hf-sh.org (mailto:sacredheart@hf-sh.org)
3. Richard Copeland
1. username: rcopeland
2. email: rcopeland@hf-sh.org (mailto:rcopeland@hf-sh.org)
Question that came up after our training session:
1. Can the Parish events banner on the home page scroll? So that people can see more than the top three posts?
Thanks,
Fr. Tyler

Father & Lanny,
I have made all accounts, but must wait until everyone confirms their user accounts, so that I may add them to the Holy Family site as well.
Please let me know when everyone has confirmed their initial account.
Also, I am having our developer, Michael, look into putting a "View more parish news & events" button below the showed posts that will link to the rest of the posts.
I asked about a scroll, but it deviates from the "one-scroll" look of the site and could get confusing.
Thank you,

Veronica,
I've added content to the Join Our Parish page on the Holy Family Side. I would like to add a contact form. Do we have that plug in? How do we add plug ins? It would be nice to have that ability.
Also I check the admin@hf-sh.org (mailto:admin@hf-sh.org) email address for the user information for the website but we didn't receive it. Did you add admin@hf-sh.org (mailto:admin@hf-sh.org) as a website editor?
Thanks,
Fr. Tyler

Veronica,
Thanks for all the updates. Its coming together! I noticed that on the Sacred Heart side the time for confessions is wrong. It should say: 4:30pm to 5pm or by appointment.

Father,
I have added the plugin "Visual Form Builder" and began making a Contact form for the Join our Parish page. I was not sure what other information you wanted on the contact form, so I have left it pretty basic.
If you want to add more, simply edit the form, click to add a field, and drag each box to move items.
As long as you save it, it will update the form on the page as I have used a shortcode.
As for the confession times, I will get right on that.
Users: Did you receive emails for any of the users? According to the users, the username "parishadmin" is on hold for several days or until it has been activated.
Thank you and so sorry for the confusion!

Awesome! The forms are great. I made a few tweaks and added it to Holy Family side.
I'm working filling out the rest of the pages.
As for users. Richard Copeland is stuck downstate due to snow so I haven't touched base with him yet as to receiving an email to activate his website username. I am the administrator for the email account: admin@hf-sh.org (mailto:admin@hf-sh.org) and I just checked that email again and did not receive any email. Is that the email you used for the username parishadmin?
Thanks,

I noticed that you made a form on the other side and was completely baffled because I though "wait... I didn't do that. How did it do that??"
So, good to know that it was you, not a system error! Haha, it scared me for a moment!
I am pretty sure I sent it to admin@hf-sh.org. Hmm... that is very strange that none of the users I added are even showing up for me.
If I try to re-add the user, I get an error message saying:

If I try to re-add the user, I get an error message saying:
- That username is currently reserved but may be available in a couple of days.
- That email address has already been used. Please check your inbox for an activation email. It will become available in a couple of days if you do nothing.
This is something I will have to look into. Worst case scenario, we have to wait a few days before re-making the users. Hopefully we can solve this before, though.
Father, do you know if Lanny has received a confirmation email?
I'm not sure if she got it today. I was in the office in Tawas all day.
I was thinking more about the myParish App message center. There really is no need to put that on the home page. I really doubt we'll use it much and it just clutters the home page.
For the Parish Events section: You are right we don't want to confuse people by having something scroll left to right to see more events. Can there be a page which has a live feed of all the posts in chronological order so if you click PARISH EVENTS you see the whole list of posts?

Father,
We will remove the myParish App message area from both sites.
For the Parish Events, we will link the title "Parish Events" to the page with a live feed of all posts.
I will send you an additional message when these changes have been made so you know what to look for.
Father,
I was able to create the 3 additional user accounts and sent their login info to the emails you sent me.
Let me know if these work,
