Website Domain Transfer

To: Lauren McDonald
Good morning, Lauren -

You have let us know that you would like your domain to be transferred to Diocesan. 

There are two ways that we can go about doing this:
  1. Provide Diocesan with your domain login credentials and we will initiate the transfer OR
  2. Your current domain owner can initiate the transfer
I understand one of your parishioners may have the domain information so he should be able to provide the transfer code to us - if he needs help in obtaining the transfer code, you are welcome to have him contact me.  I can be reached by email (webdepartment@diocesan.com) or by telephone (877-923-0777) with questions.

1a. Provide Diocesan with Login
Below are the things we need for the login:
  • Login URL
  • Username/email
  • Password
Once Diocesan has initiated the transfer, you will still need to send Diocesan the Authorization (EPP) code (emailed to domain owner).  If you believe that there will be an issue with this, please let us know. 

2. Client Initiates Domain Transfer
  1. Screenshot or make written copies of all domain records and send to webdepartment@diocesan.com
    Diocesan can then check that all records are in place once the domain has been transferred.
  2. Unlock your domain 
  3. Send us the Authorization (EPP) Code
  4. Send to email webdepartment@diocesan.com
  5. Diocesan requests transfer
  6. You confirm the transfer
  7. Transfer complete!

You are correct, Cody has the domain information. He was under the impression that this information was only to be used for launching the website. 

If you would still like to transfer the domain to Diocesan, let us know and we can get that started!

If you should have any issues as a result (usually not, but rarely it can affect incoming emails, for example, if your email uses that domain) please let us know as soon as possible.
