You've definitely got some good ones in there. I'd suggest taking all photos landscape so they fit on the homepage and image headers better. Also, the next time you're at Sunday mass, take some shots from the back of the church, facing the altar. Any photos of parishioners at events are great too.

I sent some pictures with parishioners in them. Is there any chance that the vertical pictures can be used or not at all?

They can be used on the website within page's content, and even as page image headers although page image headers will take the center, center of an image and show the full width of the image.
