Translation Options

Good afternoon Father,

Danae let me know that you are deciding between translation options. Here at Diocesan, we recommend using either PolyLang (manual) or Google Translate (automatic). Below is more information on each. Remember that the language selector and/or translate button can always be styled to match your website.


Here is a PolyLang Site: https://stbernadettecc.org/
  • Manually translate content & you decide the layout, text, and images for everything
  • Allows for different menus depending on the language
  • Homepages can have different content (see homepage images & Parish News section for example)
  • Create an English & Spanish version of pages. 
    This means that the content doesn't have to be the same so if there can be different contact people for different languages. So you can have English-speaker's information on the English version of the page and Spanish-speaker on the Spanish version.
  • Create English & Spanish version of posts
  • Spanish pages get their own URL's (links)
