Joseph & Mary - Freeport, IL

Domain Transfer

Hello Fr. Barr,

You have let us know that you would like your stjosephstmary.com domain to be transferred to Diocesan.

There are two ways that we can go about doing this:
  1. Provide Diocesan with your domain login credentials and we will initiate the transfer OR
  2. Your current domain owner can initiate the transfer

1. Provide Diocesan with Login
Below are the things we need for the login:
  • Login URL
  • Username/email
  • Password
Once Diocesan has initiated the transfer, you will still need to send Diocesan the Authorization (EPP) code (emailed to domain owner).  If you believe that there will be an issue with this, please let us know.

2. We Will Initiate Domain Transfer
  1. Unlock your domain
  2. Send us the Authorization (EPP) Code
  3. Send to email webdepartment@diocesan.com
  4. Diocesan initiates transfer
  5. You confirm the transfer
  6. Transfer complete!

Let us know if you have any questions or are having trouble finding who your current domain owner is.

Hello, Fr. Barr -
It looks like your domain is registered through a company called Wild West Domains at http://www.wildwestdomains.com.   Wild West is part of GoDaddy, so the domain could be registered at either of these companies.

Does that name sound familiar to you?  If not, do you know who at the Parish might have that login information?   It could be a person (or company) that originally set up the website for the church.

This is not the same as the site login, where you go to make changes to the website, but instead, it's the site where the church originally purchased the domain name "stjosephstmary.com" and where you pay the yearly fee to use that name for the website.

Thank you,

Mary

Yes, that sounds right, bit would like to dump Go Daddy
TO THE CLIENT Mary Goeldel, Diocesan
Yes, certainly - I can help with that.

Would you happen to know the login information for GoDaddy for your account?  Or might someone else at the church know it?

I have to log into the account in order to retrieve the code that will help us transfer the domain to Diocesan's management.

Thank you!

Trying to log into the domain settings that was connected to the link you gave me, I do not even know my username or customer # let alone the password.

Good morning, Fr. Barr -
I believe the account with Wild West may have been registered under your gmail account.  If it was, I initiated a "retrieve username" with the site and they will email a 6-digit code to you that we need to enter to get your username.

If you get an email today from Wild West Domains, could you let me know what that 6-digit code is?  I'll try to help with getting the domain's username and password again so we can log in and start the domain transfer process.

Thank you!

Ok. Thanks. I have nothing in my email yet and can't find anything in my archives.
TO THE CLIENT Mary Goeldel, Diocesan

Hello Fr. Barr,

In order to launch the new website, we'll need to be able to log in to your domain account.  We attempted to figure out a few months ago where your domain is held, thinking it is through GoDaddy, and I don't believe we had any luck with that.

I do believe the account is with GoDaddy.com so I requested a password reset to the account using your email address.  If that's so, you should receive an email with a six-digit code in it that we can enter at GoDaddy to retrieve your information.

If you do not receive the code, you will need to contact GoDaddy in order to regain access to your account.  Unfortunately, they will only work with the owner of the account so I will not be able to call for you.

Their customer service number is 480-463-8387 and they have support available around the clock, 24/7.

Thank you,

Mary
